Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

You should call to request the fingerprinting cards, otherwise it will take months to get to you. I mentioned the fingerprint card wait to the lady at Consumer Affairs that I spoke with and she told me that I should have just called and they would mail it out right away. I believe that you should however just mail in your application with your check and picture and get on the waiting list for the check to be cashed and then deal with your fingerprinting cards and transcripts. It'll take a few weeks for them to even cash that check.

Also, livescan is only available in California for a California RN license. You can do livescan only for the state that you are currently doing the livescan...hopefully that makes sense.

I went online to make a Breeze account after I delivered my app and check and it wasn't available to me until my check did cash. They don't really give a whole lot of information regarding it for those who are getting their license via endorsement. My check was cashed a week after I delivered it in June but that may be because I went to the Sacramento office instead of mailing it.

Thanks! I don't want the process to be any longer than it has to be! Is the fingerprint form FD-258? I'm going to call my local FBI and see if they do fingerprinting and if they utilize that same form.

I am not clear as to your intentions but for CA license you can only do livescan in CA so you will have to fly out there to get it done.

I'm not sure the exact fingerprint card needed, the person I spoke with did tell me but I have since forgotten. Try calling 1-800-838-6828, it's the Department of Consumer Affairs, they are handling the BON's calls and were who helped me.

@prooxfordcomma What did you tell BRN when after getting off hold to convince them to move your application forward? I'm desperate to get my license ASAP to keep my job offer =[

Does the actual fingerprint card have to be sent to BON? The application says to do that, but I had to register with Cogent for fingerprinting and the instructions say to send the card to Cogent, which doesn't make sense because the hard copy is supposed to go to BON.

Do you think it helps at all to call the BON after sending in the application before the fee (check) has been processed? Does it speed up the application process at all?

guys i just wanna ask if did you send one copy of the live scan form to the boars of nursing? what is ur method sending it? thanks

Since I have been following this thread. I just want to let everyone know that I'm officially a California RN as of 7/29. It took 9 weeks and 6 days. I think it helps when you find out your evaluator's name so you can email them directly. The representatives at the DCA can only provide a general overview of your file. Let me know if anyone has any questions :)
