Timeline for endorsing RN license to CA

Published

I am interested to hear anyones experience in endorsing their license into CA. I used the online endorsement as well as the livescan fingerprinting. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

When you say 90 days, do you mean from the time it was cashed? I am at 74 days since it was cashed. 95 days since I sent it in.

I am seriously in a panic. I am supposed to start August 15. I applied for it 4.5 months in advance. I never in a million years thought I wouldn't have my license by the time I start.

90 days since the check is cashed is what I told.

that is nuts! You have a job lined up and everything?? Have u tried calling?

welp i called today since it is now week 11 and the lady told me the same thing...that i had an initial evaluation done and that my nursing verification and some education is missing. i told her my nursys is going to expire and she said she will write and email to the board. I have been told a few times by some of them that they were going to write letters to them but to give it 5-7 business days to wait for a response...i've never gotten any type of response from them.

she said that with all the new grads and so many endorsement requests that it is a tough time for them. she also told me she writes over 100 emails a day similar to the one she wrote today for me.

i just don't get it! i wish there was an end in sight...anyone else hear anything?

I currently have my nursing license in MA by exam. I am now in the process of doing my CA license by endorsement and have mailed out the paper work today. My question is if I can start to fill out another application for the Colorado license by endorsement, before my CA one has even been processed? Can you fill out and send multiple endorsement applications at the same time or do you have to do it one at a time?

@Ibeanyy Any updates?

@jillwshields I think you be able to apply to multiple states at the same.

As for my updates, I just called the BON since it has been a couple days past the 8 week mark. I spoke to a nice lady. She told me my "nursing degree" is in the system and that she doesn't see any class deficiencies. The only thing she doesn't see is that my license verification is not in the system. I told her I resent it twice and that she is sending a "escalated" email to the BON regarding the issue.

I know it has been taking forever but I'm happy that they're finally looking at my application. Keep ya'll up to date!

Keeping the feed active.

July 16: transcript requests from 2 schools. 1 school has sent. other school pending. nursys verification.

July 18: completed application sent priority mail

and so the wait begins.....

I received a call from the board today and they said they're waiting for one transcript and then I will get my license! It's frustrating because the school said they sent my official transcript twice... Oh well 3rd times a charm!

Next week will be week 12.. I'm just happy someone has finally reached out to me and it will hopefully be an easy fix :)

I got my nursing license on the 18th. I called and let them know it had been 90 days on the 17th, received a phone call to clarify some questions (my school had changed names sometime between now and when I took the NCLEX) and had a license on the 18th.

Fingers crossed for the rest of you!

Still nothing on my end. 6 weeks now since I submitted my application in person to the Sacramento office and did my livescan.

I was just told on the phone that my FBI fingerprinting hasn't cleared yet but that, "I need to wait my turn, there are a lot of people waiting who submitted their application earlier and we are still working on those who applied in May."

She said that my temporary license will not even be considered until another 3 weeks at least.

Wrote to the senator and local assemblywoman last week regarding this wait for all of us and the impact it is having on our jobs and livelihood. Maybe that'll help...who knows.

So I'm ready to send in my application for endorsement but I'm so puzzled by the fingerprint process. Live scan is available in Pennsylvania, but on the website it says anyone from out-of-state has to use the fingerprint card, which takes a long time to process! I requested fingerprint cards to be sent to me, but who knows how long it'll take to get them! I guess in the meantime I'll just request my transcripts and send paperwork to the PA BOB just to get the ball rolling until this finger print stuff is taken care of!

I made some phone calls today and learned that police departments don't do fingerprinting for the public in my city, even though I found a list of local police departments that supposedly did. I was told by an officer that it wasn't good financially or timewise to do fingerprinting. He referred me to a retired officer who does fingerprinting. I didn't feel right about going that route. So I went back on the California BONs website and reread the applications instructions again regarding fingerprinting. It seems like live scan is an option to anyone anywhere in the states that has access to Live Scan. I'll just go the live scan route and see happens after I submit them.

Hello everyone,

I'm probably the latest one who turned in my application here. USPS confirmed my app was delivered on 7/7. They haven't cashed my check yet. I'm already getting anxious after reading your posts!

Can anyone tell me how does the Breeze website work? Is it only available for you to check app status after they cashing out your check?! Thanks!!!! Please help!
