Tidewater Community College-hopefuls application July 2014

Published

This is a new tread for anyone applying July 15, 2014 for TCC Nursing program.

Did you go to your primary care physician or were you able to get them done at an urgent care? I don't need that many immunizations but I need the physical too. I don't have a doctor here so I was just wondering what the cheapest option was. Also are they just waiving the whole PPD 4 week check thing? Cos we got the letters last week and we have to let them know by the 11th if we want to accept the position....obviously thats not enough time to wait 4 weeks and get the second phase done.

Correct, November 11th is just the deadline to turn in the blue paper. We have until the semester starts to have everything else done which is what Ms. Alicia Wilson told me. Now I got my physical done at a local clinic in Portsmouth for free but you have to set an appointment. As far as the "extra 4 weeks", that's only if our titer results come back negative for the PPD and varicella. I had that confused as well but the nurse practitioner who seen me clarified that for me.

I tried uploading my physical on certifiedprofile, but it rejected my document. I uploaded the paper that was required to be filled out by the doctors in the packet. Which one did you all upload?

I haven't even gotten that far, i had my physical today but everything isn't filled out yet. Maybe you should call Monday and ask? Are we suppose to upload everything? So much needs to be done lol. Sorry I wasn't much help .

Lol yea we need to upload our shots, titers, physical, and CPR. The physical is giving me a hard time because I don't know what to upload.

Maybe just the last page where the doctor signed it saying you are fit to start the program?

So are you uploading where the doctor signed it saying you recieved the shot or the actual shot records?...if that makes sense.

At first I uploaded both sheets, but now I'm trying to upload the last sheet and it won't let me upload it. I think I may have to call that 1-888 number that's listed to remove the document that's there.

I uploaded my CPR certificate, first was declined. I called the number they post when they denied it, it was because I didn't sign the Card. Went back signed scanned, and it was approved. Monday I have my physical and the results for the titers, I will upload them by then.

Where did you do your CPR class at? I may have to call to find out why they rejected my physical paper.

I took CPR HLT105 TCC Norfolk on a weekend, it was easy. But be careful because they give you homework to complete before you go to the class, if you do not complete the homework, they don't let you take the class. I saw them turning down couple people.

I uploaded all my documents and were accepted. I just bought my nurse shoes, it is so unreal.. (feeling blessed)

I have 2 more things to upload which is my MMR and second PPD. I just did my CPR class yesterday and met another student who got into the January cohort as well lol. I'm just praying a spot opens up. hopefully other students got into other programs like riverside, Thomas Nelson, or HU where they would rather go to lol.
