Tidewater Community College Fall 2018

Hello all fellow applicants for TCC's Fall Semester 2018!

I have been scouring the most recent TCC post, and the latest applicants have been offered their seats in the program, woohoo!!! As a result, I have decided to post a new thread for the next round of applications.

Just curious, will anyone be a resident of Virginia for only a short time before applying? I will be moving in December and I was wondering if my measly two month-long residency will hold up as well against someone who has been a resident of Virginia for over a year.

Happy application cycle! :) Hope to see some of you someday soon.

What other schools did you all apply to?

Is anyone concerned that we would be the first class with the new Concept Based Curriculum? I read that students were having to research and teach each other the concepts. The teacher doesn't lecture, she only steps in to assist. That makes me nervous. Has anyone heard about how the new teaching style will work?

hello. I am new here. I am super nervous about my HESI, and I got only 84, plus, I finished all my prerequisites except PSY230. I am taking PSY 235, Microbiology, and PHI 220 at this spring semester. my current GPA is 3.95. I was so worry about I haven't finished PSY230, and they would reject me or make me a alternate because of that. Thank you for your info.

Hey guys! Is it only one cohorts open this fall semester? I asked the girl when I turned in my application, she said there are 64 spots. Kinda confused.

I was told there are 2 cohorts with 32 spots in each cohort

I only have PSY 235. I tried to do an official waiver and was told that it wasn't needed. They just changed the requirement for Fall 2018. 235 was required before that. At my information session they said they would take either 230 or 235.

All my classes are complete. I have a 3.8 GPA and a 93 on my Hesi. I'm hoping it's enough.

Uggggh this next month is gonna drag!

Only a month to go!!

I also applied for ESCC cohort. Crossing my fingers hoping that there is a spot for me!

i everyone, I want to know your thoughts on my chances of getting in. I have a bachelors of science in elementary education and took all but A&F. In the prereqs I got all Bs and 1 C. And my HESI score is a 78. I feel like there's no way I could get in. I'm just hoping my B.S. helps me. I'm horrible at test taking but knew I would be around an 80 to get in. I just feel like 78 is too low thoughts? Does anyone know someone who has gotten in with a HESI score lower than an 80?
