JUST TO KEEP EVERYONE ON THERE TOES, THE FBI SAYS THEY ARE PLANNING TO RAISE THE TREAT LEVEL TO HIGH (ORANGE). SOMETIMES I WISH THEY COULD LET THE PEOPLE KNOW A LITTLE OF WHAT THEY KNOW! ANYONE WITH ME ON THAT ONE? MAYBE IT'S JUST ME, BUT I FEEL LIKE OUR COUNTRY IS ON AN EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER, ESPECIALLY THESE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS! GOD HELP US!!!

I know just what you mean. I feel the same way.

Threat level of something specific or just the general all-around threat level??

They stated that there is "increased chatter" in the al Queda network. That it rivals that of before Sept 11 and that Bin Laden is planning yet another video release warning us about going to war with Suddam. Yes, it would be nice to know at least some of what is going on.

Frankly, I'm a little concerned about events in North Korea.

They announced it on the news a little while ago. The Home Protection Officer or whatever his title is said the increase to an orange alert is based on increased chatter on the other sides cell phones. It seems to me that with the increase in buidup of our men and women and weapons that it would naturally follow that the other side is talking more. We are expected to attack Iraq next week, I hate hearing it because , what kind I do? I'm in the kitchen preparing lunch. I can avoid airports, but I wasn't planning on flying anyway. The one thing I dislike is, it raises the children's anxiety levels. This is no way for our small children to have to live. Mine don't understand it.

Mine doesn't either. It's gotten to the point that we feel helpless and unable to protect our own children....:(

I know what you mean. It's not a good feeling being kept in the dark. And there's really not a lot an ordinary civilian can do about it anyway. The levels of alerts are meant to get public buildings and airports to increase their security. As for the rest of us, we just have to go on our merry way and hope nothing happens.

I'm with you Chicory.

Personally though, how many times have they called alerts....nothing has happened. The whole reason there was dissent over even having this system is the "boy who cried wolf" syndrome.

Right now, I'm kinda feeling that....:(
