Thomas Jefferson university FACT 2010

Published

Has anyone applied yet for the FACT programme for 2010?

The FACT program does require a mini HESI to be taken after each clinical rotation (ex. Ped's, OB, Med surg), the scores count as 5% of your grade for that nursing class. If you fail (score of an 830 or lower = to a "B" grade wise) its not such a big deal the only requirement is to do 100 - 150 makeup NCLEX questions. At the end of the program you will take a comprehensive HESI. You are allowed to take this twice. If you still do not pass the second time, Jefferson requires you to do a 6 week remediation course. Only after remediation will they sign your ticket to take the NCLEX. It's really not so bad :nurse:

Thank you so much for this information, I have always had apprehension with standarized testing. The HESI required pass rate at Drexel is a 950 -such high stakes. When reading the boards the students seem to be a nervous wreck. The remediation course at Drexel is $3500. Do you know how much the remediation course is at Jeff?

I am 99.9% sure that there is no fee for remediation.

Does anyone know if it is too late to apply to the FACT for the February deadline? The website shows that there is a final review period of february 15th. I am having trouble getting in touch with the office. Thank you!

No, it's not too late to apply. According to the website, if you get your application materials in before February 15th you will be considered in the Final Review. http://www.jefferson.edu/jchp/home/AdmissionsDeadlines.cfm

Laafalot, I just heard from someone that there are only 2 more spots left! Hurry and get your app in soon. Good luck!

Thomas Jefferson as of a few days ago has begun a wait list for the Fact 2010 due to start in the spring...

I think they made some changes to what's being offered in 2010, and they accepted a few more people--me included. I just got my acceptance yesterday.

KaytieD, do you know any details about these changes?

hey all, im new here! Just got accepted to Jeff FACT and im so nervous and scared.

Im overwhelmed... Im taking my last 3 prereqs and all are labs. Bio-Chem, A&P2, Microbio.

Jeez... Hows everyone else?

For those accepted--where are you all from? What are your plans as far as living arrangements? I'm from South Jersey so commuting wouldnt be bad but im thinking about living off campus someone close.

I live in Jersey too but Central -- about an hour/hour and half from Jeff so I'm definitely not commuting because I'll have to get up wayyy to early lol. I applied to housing at Jeff so depending on what they have available I may either live in Jeff's housing or find something in the area. I don't know yet...

I'm from the Seattle area and have applied for on-campus housing....the most convenient option for me :-)
