  1. Hi OP, my whole career as a Nurse has been Neurosurgical/Trauma (step-down and full ICU) at a Level 1. I am currently in CRNA school and feel that having a Neuro ICU background has only helped not hindered. Due to my prior experience, I am very familiar with most of the IV drugs that are used in Anesthesia practice ex. paralytics, analgesics. My understanding of their effects at a cellular/chemical level on the SNS and PSNS came quite easily. I feel that being a neuro nurse has only been beneficial. Don't switch if you enjoy it. I couldn't imagine working as a nurse in any other population. Don't let anyone tell you that it will hold you back from being accepted into CRNA school. I had no issues and was very confident in my interview.
  2. No I didn't and i was freaking out... I got the good pop up but still didn't believe it. I just checked the PA BON and my name was just put up. The PVT does work!
  3. I'm with you, I took it on Wednesday and everyone else has their name up on the PA BON but me and I also got the "good pop-up"... I'm waiting like a crazy person over here... its so frustrating..
  4. The same thing is happening to me... I got the good pop up, I've been checking every couple hours. Everyone who took the test with me yesterday has showed up on the state board but me. I'm freaking out.
  5. There is discounted parking it ranges from 9-12 per day depending on which lot you park in. I have an hour commute each way on the train and it saves me a huge headache. Think about your gas, miles on your car and not to forget the joys of city traffic :)
  6. I am 99.9% sure that there is no fee for remediation.
  7. I am in the FACT program now and will be graduating in May *fingers crossed*. I will say that it is one of the hardest things I've ever done, yet one of the best. The summer semester is by far the worst. I think everyone has mini panic attacks during this period, but if you want it bad enough you will succeed. Once you hit OB things calm down quite a bit. The best advice I can give you is to help each other. We have all grown really close as a class. O and one more thing, if you have been an "A" student your entire life, check it at the door. It really is OK to get "B's" in this program. You are already considered the best of the best to even be accepted into such a competitive program so don't kill yourself. I think a lot of us had a hard time getting that through our heads which caused most of the above "mini panic attacks". lol Good Luck, you will all do fine!
  8. The FACT program does require a mini HESI to be taken after each clinical rotation (ex. Ped's, OB, Med surg), the scores count as 5% of your grade for that nursing class. If you fail (score of an 830 or lower = to a "B" grade wise) its not such a big deal the only requirement is to do 100 - 150 makeup NCLEX questions. At the end of the program you will take a comprehensive HESI. You are allowed to take this twice. If you still do not pass the second time, Jefferson requires you to do a 6 week remediation course. Only after remediation will they sign your ticket to take the NCLEX. It's really not so bad
