Has anyone applied yet for the FACT programme for 2010?

Congrats, Chemistry03!! As far as the interview, it is fairly laidback. The admissions counselor is very nice and will start the interview off by asking if you have any questions for her (at least she did this for me). I liked this approach as it helped me relax a bit before I was questioned. She will also review your courses with you to make sure everything is correct. Make sure you know what a nurse does and how you will make a positive contribution to nursing. I think that's probably the biggest thing. Honestly, it wasn't that bad. I'm sure you'll be fine. Good luck!! :)

does anyone know how often (if ever) people get rejected after getting an interview at TJU? I'm nervous about mine and I was just wondering how worried I have to be? I just got an email about mine today... I'm excited and scared at the same time!!!

Hi eveyone,

I have an interview the 4th of january 2010, and I am very nervous.

if anyone of you guys had the interview please let me know what should I expect?

Congrats, Doja! I believe there have been a few posts on this thread already about interview experiences. I would suggest reading through it. But overall, it's a fairly laidback interview. The admissions counselor is very nice. Just make sure you know what a nurse does and why you think you'd be a good one. Good luck! :)

Hey guys,

I see that there are 8 credits for Chemistry that needs to be done as a prerequisite. I was wondering if it had to be CHEM I and CHEM II or if it could be from other chemistry courses such as organic chem, biochem, etc?

I think that would suffice. However, to be sure, I suggest contacting the Admissions Office.

I just received a pre-requisite completion letter in the mail (I have yet to hear an admissions decision) and it said my last 4 chemistry credits were to be fulfilled with Chemistry II or Biochem....

New to site..second degree student... My father, a proud Drexel alum, would like for me to apply to the ACE program but there are many negative posts regarding that program. Called the school myself and did not

get a very positive response, was told "this program is very difficult" and "it is not for everyone"...talk about a bad first impression! Anyhow, does anyone know if the HESI is a requirement for this program? The Drexel folks seem to be spending much time learning how to pass this test and seem to think this is a huge part of their NCLEX success. Although, when I checked out the pass rates of the insitutions I am considering, (Jeff, Nova) there are marginal differences and I am assuming all programs do a good job with preparing for the boards.

The FACT program does require a mini HESI to be taken after each clinical rotation (ex. Ped's, OB, Med surg), the scores count as 5% of your grade for that nursing class. If you fail (score of an 830 or lower = to a "B" grade wise) its not such a big deal the only requirement is to do 100 - 150 makeup NCLEX questions. At the end of the program you will take a comprehensive HESI. You are allowed to take this twice. If you still do not pass the second time, Jefferson requires you to do a 6 week remediation course. Only after remediation will they sign your ticket to take the NCLEX. It's really not so bad :nurse:

Ris, are you in the FACT program now? Any words of wisdom to share with some of us who will become FACTers in May? :)

I am in the FACT program now and will be graduating in May *fingers crossed*. I will say that it is one of the hardest things I've ever done, yet one of the best. The summer semester is by far the worst. I think everyone has mini panic attacks during this period, but if you want it bad enough you will succeed. Once you hit OB things calm down quite a bit.

The best advice I can give you is to help each other. We have all grown really close as a class. O and one more thing, if you have been an "A" student your entire life, check it at the door. It really is OK to get "B's" in this program. You are already considered the best of the best to even be accepted into such a competitive program so don't kill yourself. I think a lot of us had a hard time getting that through our heads which caused most of the above "mini panic attacks". lol Good Luck, you will all do fine!
