Quote

The abortion law builds on legislation passed in 2010 that represented a major shift for a traditionally Catholic country, transforming Spain into one of the most progressive countries in Europe on reproductive rights. Spain's constitutional court last week rejected a challenge by the right-wing Popular Party against allowing abortions in the first 14 weeks of pregnancy.

The debate will be heated in Spain, I imagine, as the conservative opposition pushes back. My daughter had horrible menstrual pain during her adolescence and young adulthood.  I'm certain that she would have benefitted from that time.

What is a acceptable percentage of students to be victims of harassment and intimidation,  or are having their graduation ceremonies cancelled?

What a dishonest question. Who claimed that any of that is OK?

TMB, based on this and other posts in the recent weeks, seems to be saying that as long as they are not breaking the law that it is OK.

And, that Fox's coverage is overblown in that only a minority of students are involved.  The reality is that the actions of the minority is effecting everyone on campus.

My question is a fair one.

I think all of that is terrible.  We model a good measure of that harassment and intimidation in the adult world, IMV. It seems that there's always a small percentage of the population who struggle with the notion of peaceful protest, matter the political or ideological POV. As well, we have an element on our society which seeks out activist activity as opportunities to create chaos and escalate tensions between groups.  They desire anarchy.

Most college students on most campuses are not engaged in antisemitic threats or protests.  Freedom of speech gets messy.

So sure if it was a group of neo nazis your opinion would be the same....

"Freedom of speech is messy".

Oh and BTW.

People saying and having the opinion that the 2020 election was rigged is freedom of speech too.

Messy indeed

We've seen neo-Nazi gatherings get violent before.  We saw that in August of 2017, remember?  Their freedom of speech included the notion that jews would not replace them before one of them killed Heather Heyer and injured 19 others. Your guy said that there was good people on the side of the neo-Nazis, remember?

No person ever said that it wasn't freedom of speech to spread lies and propaganda about election integrity.  It's very messy when so many people believe and spread lies, but here we are.

Well openly chanting and displaying flags of a designated terrorist group is free speech. However praying outside an abortion clinic is investigated as domestic terrorism.

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences.

Your analogy is false. If the forced pregnancy types confine  themselves to prayer, no issues. Vandalism and murder, not so much. When was the last time a crisis pregnancy center was bombed? Was it the praying that triggered investigation, or the possibility of other, more violent, activities?

Not sure what point you're trying to make.

That's what you believe?  OK. I'm not surprised that your example includes misinformation.  I don't expect much beyond disingenuous right wing hyperbolic spin.
