SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The District Attorney's office is looking into whether it will file criminal charges against two local nurses hired to care for a 98-year-old woman in a shocking case of apparent abuse.
According to the complaint filed with the Board of Registered Nursing, their on-the-job conduct was "vile, disrespectful and abusive" and much of it was captured on tape.
"The images themselves are extremely disturbing and were a huge shock to my clients," said William Berman the attorney for the patient's family....
Whoa. $1300/day for in-home nursing care??I'm in the wrooooong kind of work.
Disgustinganimals...both of them...nothing but predators. I have plenty to say but I respect the TOS of allnurses.
I am sure that is what the family pays the agency for these nurses services......the nurses only see their agreed rate with the agency.
The nurses pay is different from what the agency charges.
Like really? Really??? Above and beyond disgusting. To subject the patient you're caring for to that kind of behavior in order to fulfill a voyeuristic/exhibitionistic relationship is disgusting. And not even with her consent? No no. Obviously, they need to lose their license for that kind of unprofessionalism, disrespect, AND also for being stupid. Why wouldn't they think there was a camera in the room? Good thing there was, because even though you provide adequate care to your patients and your patients and their families expect adequate care, not everyone provides it.
Gross. BLech!
Horrific and disgusting...
Licenses were suspended October 24... undoubtedly will be revoked...
The article is wrong, they cannot work is hospitals. Their licenses have been suspended as of October 24 (per the CA BRN license verification system)
Hopefully (and probably) will do prison time...
I taught an intro to nursing class in a 4 year college. I showed them a film on "Tusguee" (sorry if I didn't spell that right) and showed the "Office of the professions" web site. It was the area where nurses has supended licences due to abuse and neglect. It is sad to say, on most of the students, it didn't make a difference
Y'know, when I saw/heard the warning before watching the video, the warning that it was "graphic", I assumed I'd be seeing two nurses slapping or pinching or otherwise physically harming the patient.
THIS was a whole new level that never crossed my mind. And a lot of weird stuff crosses my mind!
Bizarre.
But aside from the shame of this incident is the shame that there will be people who might just stereotype, and may not trust a male nurse simply because of what these two animals did.

Wow... There are plenty of unemployed nurses willing to give excellent care than risking to keep these two disgusting fools licensed to work!
