In the case of this president and the evaluation of his mental health stability, we have the benefit of years of a level of "celebrity" which allows contrast and comparison of scripted versus contemporaneous language and behavior. We have the benefit of people and family who provide insight into his youth and upbringing.
The character flaws alone should disqualify Trump for the presidency. No amount of gaslighting changes Trump.

QuoteAlthough Trump has expressed confidence in his mental fitness in his tweets and speeches, mental health professionals have categorized Trump’s behavior as indicative of mental disorders ranging from narcissistic personality disorder to sociopathy. Dr. Lance Dodes, a training and supervising analyst emeritus with the Boston Psychoanalytic Society and retired assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, maintained in an interview with the HPR that Trump “meets the criteria for a diagnosis for antisocial personality disorder.” In the absence of a formal diagnosis, he continued, “it’s simpler to say that he’s a sociopath.”
Evidence for this personality disorder and its characteristic lack of empathy consistently come through in Trump’s communications with the public, such as when he mocked a disabled reporter. “It’s the sort of thing that if you saw it in a five- or 10-year-old,” Dodes said, “you’d take them aside and say, ‘that’s not right’ … But he doesn’t care, he doesn’t have any sense of the feelings of that person who is being mocked.” Although he is primarily concerned with this sociopathy, Dodes also agreed that Trump fits the pattern of behavior for narcissistic personality disorder.
QuoteHenriques and Dodes are not alone in their claims. In early 2017, psychiatrist and Duty to Warn President John Gartner collected 41,000 signatures from mental health professionals: “We believe in our professional judgment that Donald Trump manifests a serious mental illness that renders him psychologically incapable of competently discharging the duties of President of the United States,” the petition read.
I believe that it is important to acknowledge the evidence that the president is not mentally fit for the office.

This type of thinking and language is not new for Trump and should be disqualifying.
And notice that in Trump's reaction to this new revelation wasn't "Im gonna sue". Perhaps because he is aware that he doesn't have a case. The Court Most Inconvenienced By Using Them As The Quickest Resource to Abuse is tired of having to postpone legit cases to handle this unhinged person. They might be the happiest people of all to see him lose so they can get back to the business they were chosen to judge.
With the confirmation today that Trump lacks comprehension of the value of service to country or others, it is time to consider that he is a threat to the republic, to national security, to our military, to our economy, and to the health of the people.
Remove him before he can do more damage.
Are we there yet?
The despot says that he doesn't want to count the ballots, that he needs to get another loyal justice on the SC because he plans to contest the election results immediately, and that there is no expected transition of power.
Congressional republicans are largely silent on the topic. Is the elephant in the room big enough or should we feed it some more hamberders?
Busy all day running errands...just starting my internet wanderings tonight while Chicken roasting for dinner.
Citing the 25th Amendment,
@SpeakerPelosi and @RepRaskin will hold a press conference on Friday morning "to discuss the introduction of the Commission on Presidential Capacity."

None. Ms. Pelosi's plan is to create a commission that would act in place of the cabinet. However, it would still require Mr. Pence's participation. And, if Mr. Trump contested this, which he most certainly would, it would be taken up in congress and require two-thirds of both the house and senate to uphold the removal.

It's time to create a permanent committee to provide this oversight of the executive branch. Legislation was introduced in the House which would accomplish that. This presidency has caused concern about fitness to serve from year one. It wasn't reassuring to have the new press secretary demand that the press acknowledge that Trump's inaugural crowd was the biggest at the behest of the president. It gets less reassuring with each passing day, week, month and year of this presidency.
Basic mental health assessment involves a great deal of assessment and observation. We observe the person generally, how do they look? Anything unusual or attention grabbing? Do they make eye contact, gesture lots or little, talk lots or little? Are speech patterns appropriate for age and education? Is there cohesion of thought, tangential thought, word salad, rumination?
We've had 4 years to observe and listen to this unfit president. It's time to fix this.
