Hi all! Just thought I'd go ahead and start this. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas (or whatever you celebrate!) I'm very much enjoying my family time right now.

Spring semester starts January 5th for me, and I'll be taking A&P 2 and College Algebra. Hope to see lots of you posting here like last semester :)

got my first exam back...... 76.5 but i got an extra 4 pts making it a 80.4!! not quite like the A's you all are getting, but it works for me!!!! (for now anyway) i have a tendency to study the things that DONT make up the bulk of the exam. thats where i get screwed. either that or i'll narrow the multiple choice down to 2 answers and i pick the WRONG one almost 85% of the time!! that gets me so mad. but yeh, as long as i dont go below an 80 on my exams, i'll be good to go.

good job everyone else though. i wanna be like you when i grow up! :)

Great job!!!!

Had our lab practical on arteries today and I aced it! I almost messed up the celiac and superior mesenteric arteries - they were very tricky to distinguish on the cats she had on the tables. Thankfully I changed them both to the right answer before handing it in LOL! We studied the resp. system in humans and cats today. Got to dissect the trachea and check out the lungs and things. Fun! Thankfully I've been really sick, so I couldn't smell the preservative today.

I had my first lab practical last thursday. i got a 95.5. So I am happy with that. Although i am dreading my lecture test!!!

All we have is a midterm and a final..and quizzes. It seems like so much information for just one test.

Does anyone else have a class like that ..just a midterm and final?

We have it a little better.... in Phys we have 2 midterms and 1 Final that is not comprehensive.....so basically 3 tests overall. No quizes either.

In Microbio, we have 2 midterms and 1 comprehensive final. No quizes.

I would rather have tests after every other chapter or something..... at least you can make up some lost points. My big fear is getting sick on the days just prior to a test and/or during the test. There is no way to make up the points.

How are everyone's studies going? Any big tests coming up? I have a test on Wed. over muscle tissue- I'm gonna ACE that baby!

I WOULD have had a big test tomorrow (Monday), but we had a snow day last Monday, and that put us even further behind in the chapter. Went to class on Thursday, after snow day Monday, the prof says "Exam next Thursday instead of on Monday". Great! Another week to study. She said she would post the essay questions that afternoon on Blackboard, so we have a week to prepare.

So I check BB that afternoon - nothing. Friday - nothing. I finally decide to check my college email, and prof had written us all an email, that since we would not be finished with the chapter until Monday, and then the test would be Thursday, she couldn't really post essay questions for material we hadn't covered.

So, big dilemma for her, when to have the exam?

We just found out she's postponed it AGAIN until after our break - so we won't have it for almost 3 weeks. She won't give it the Monday after vacation, so it will be on that Thursday.

I'm bummed, but glad, sorta. I'm either going to study way too much and not enjoy my vacation (although my kids just finish theirs today, go back tomorrow, so I won't have anything to do really, just ski by myself), or get bored in the next week with studying and not do it. Nah, I won't do that. I can't. We MUST have an 80 to pass, and so far, with our only exam, I got a 69. :( Although we have weekly quizes in lab and I have done well on all of those.

So, short answer made REALLY long(!), yes, we have an exam, but not for a long time yet. Please kick me out if you see me in here and tell me to get back to work!!

Yes, Good luck on your muscle exam!

We have a practial on Thursday - covers cardiovascular, blood, endocrine & digestive. It's a 50 question with 2 bonus questions for a total of 52; however, our little piggies will be part of the exam - that I just don't understand since we will be working on humans - and I just can't seem to get the piggie branchings in my head.

Oh well - hopefully only a few questions on them.

I'm fairly confident...I definitely understand the physio. part of muscles but memorizing them is a pain...

Yup! I'll know within 5 hours of taking the test. No sitting around and anxiously waiting for me!

That's not cool. It's gotta be tough to have a 69 on your first test and then have to wait so long to try and raise it up. I know what it's like to be in the hole and try to dig yourself out- it's highly stressful. Good luck on your next test!
