Perhaps it IS nursing. What is the commonly held belief about what nursing is? look at the movies, ad papers - whaat do people think we do and what do they think we are. Then describe the reality. Actually can I write this I could have fun!! Take exerpts from romance novels and then write "reality" stories ( or copy some from this board) as opposites!
Opposite of nursing? Maybe a patient. Maybe a person who has no respect for his/hers or anyone elses well being. A drug dealer/addict. Maybe a politician, they recieve great amounts of money from tobacco lobbyers, send people to war, set laws that may affect ppls health in negative ways?
I say the opposite of nursing is the public's image of nurses vs. the actual job of the nurses. Like the all famous white skirt uniform with the cap. The fact that nurses just hold the patient's hand and put a wet wash cloth on the person's brow for fever to come down. Nurses do much, much more than that.
On the other hand the opposite of nursing can also be the patient. The person recieving the care vs. the caregiver

We have an assigment to write our response to the question "What is the opposite of nursing, in your opinion"
How would you all answer this? I'm not sure where to go with this. Would you compare nursing to other professions or just list the opposite qualities of nursing? I know there's no right or wrong on this, but I'm lost on where to go with this!
One of my friends in my class is writing on how she believes that doctors are the opposite of nursing. It's a great concept but I can't take her idea and go with it. KWIM?
Any ideas would be VERY appreciated! :)
