I started a thread here that I meant to put somewhere else, and I erased it. So what to discuss in the coffee lounge?
Have you seen any good movies lately?
Last movie I saw was "The Last Duel". Pretty good.
Anyone seen "Dune"? I see it's available for streaming and might rent it. It's up for an Academy Award for best picture.
When to the theaters to see "Nope". Wikipedia describes it as "American epic neo-Western science fiction horror film ". It was very well done and very well acted. My friend thought the social commentary was brilliant as there were some metaphors that he caught.
Another good movie I rented was "Benediction". A good true story about an anti-war poet whom after WWI wrote about the horrors of war. In his private life he was homosexual but being those times he eventually married and had a son.
Apparently the box office was pretty dismal this Labor Day with Top Gun taking the top spot after many weeks of being out. The demise of movie theaters due to covid and stream bothers me some. But time will do what it does.
One new movie I saw in the theaters yesterday is 3000 Years of Longing. A pretty good movie with good special effects. 3.5 out of 5 stars.

Don't have Apple TV, CODA on my list to see a when available HBO Max (only got it to watch Mare of Easttown limited series... Mare's home filmed 2 blocks from mine ---excellent thriller with surprising twists, seen 2x) on Hulu.
