The Mockery of Nursing

Published

Just a bit ago the top three threads involved:

1.I have a DWI. Can I be a nurse?

2.I am stupid. Can I be a nurse?

3.If it takes me five times to pass NCLEX, Can I be nurse.

Not much left to add. Says it all.

It leaves me wondering...in what school can I get a 4.0 GPA if I wrote like that? You have to take at least two required writing courses and a number of other classes that require you to write papers for a typical nursing program. How'd she get A's in those classes!? Not to mention, when you're actually in the program--you have to write other papers, care plans, etc.

I don't think there's any school that would award "A" after "A" after "A", for each and every course required for a nursing degree, such that someone who is barely literate could achieve a 4.0.

It's BS, like much of the rest of it, imo.

Bread crumb sent! Follow it Gretyl

OMG, OMG, OMG!!!

I mean, like, I knew working as a nurse was going to be waaaaaaaay different than school, but I guess I thought, like, mostly it was cause you wear different color scrubs than the ones you wore in school, which means different nail and lip colors might be necessary, like, of course. I prepared myself for that eventuality, like, it was hard, but I got through it!

I seriously don't think they know what they are doing at the hospital (Daddy got me my job, BTW, so nobody better start hating on me, WORD!!) Anyway, like, they're saying they want me doing things by myself or something!!! Isn't this supposed to be a GROUP PROJECT???? Everything is supposed to be done in groups, because, like, that is how you are suppose to do everything, like, right? What is up with this place, like. If I don't get a group soon, I'm gonna tell my Dad, and he's gonna come to work and tell everybody that they better get me a group!

Cripes. Mad dog in the house.

And for the record, the post I laid there was about as kind as I've been able to muster, considering the nature of my knee-jerk thoughts tonight.

OK, I don't usually get involved in baiting others, but this is so much fun!

And the scary thing is that we have this to look forward in the nurses taking care of us when we're older. So don't get sick in your old age! It also scares me that things have changed this much since I graduated just about seven years ago. Some days I look at people my age or a little younger and feel decades older than them and all I can do is shake my head.
