I just realized, that in a lot of ways, Nursing School is like the Hunger Games! Many go in but only a few can win. I hope I'm one of the victors in the end. To all of my fellow students in the words of Ms. Effie Trinket..... Study hard, test harder and "May the odds be ever in your favor"!
Any comments or comparisons?

I always compare school to the show Survivor...every semseter someone seems to "disappear" out of the program.

I'm going to dress up like a patient and hide from my instructors and classmates during clinicals and wait for Katness to show up.

I always compare nursing school to a roller coaster. There are ups and downs and turns and loops, but don't get off until the ride is over. Also, to stay in the game, you gotta play the game. Cliche, I know.

I'm a LVN returning to school in a BSN program. I've said that nursing school is like giving birth... Horrific and painful at the time, but soon after you forget the traumatic aspects and you are happy and in love with your new bundle of joy license. But then, when #2 comes along, you suddenly remember it all.... I can't wait for this labor to be over and get my new joyful license :)
And walking into every exam feels like walking the Green Mile!

Indeed! I went to a particularly hard nursing school- an community college but our program was much more intense than the local uni. It has such a great reputation and you definitely had to work you butt off there. Thankfully I passed my first time around but many students had to retake the classes even though they studied and did nclex questions throughout school. You can study until there's no study left in you but if you don't understand HOW to answer the question it does not good. You have to really understand how to think critically. Once you learn how to think critically like a nurse and figure out your professor you can pass any test. I did poorly on the first 2 tests in my last med surg class. The prof is extremeley hard but once I understood her way of thinking and applied it and used CT I got A's on the remaining tests.
