There's psychological addiction then there's physical, I never said a person would need to detox from phenergan, but that doesn't mean it can't be abused or psychologically addictive, and yes our docs have said it can be that's why they order us to withhold phenergan after the person has had and is REQUESTING IM phenergan around the clock.

Disagree ... I've taken phenergan and it made me feel like I was on Vicodin for a couple hours before it knocked me out. It's not a scheduled med but its naive of you to think people don't abuse phenergan lol. I recently cared for a patient who admitted to being addicted to and abusing neurontin.

Maybe they just had one last "binge" right before coming in and that's why it kept going up after admit.

The person was an unreliable source on when they last drank which tells me probably right before they came in they might have had some.

Came in at .147 next check .159 after five hours it was a .195- had patient drink a lot of water and it came down to .107 after 3 glasses of water. Does dehydration play a role in it?

I'm just wondering why someone's BAC would continue to go up and up and up upon recheck even 5 hours after admission onto the unit. The RN I'm working with says that with it being 5 hours since admit the BAC should not still be going up.

Newer* lol and no problem. My unit is in the middle of transitioning into doing TMS treatments. You should research it, pretty interesting!
