The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

I'm so nervous because I don't even have an analyst and I didn't receive the emails in July. I go to school in Indiana. Is there anyone else on here who is going to school in Indiana or anywhere in the Midwest area that did or did not receive the emails in July asking for banking info?
same here.. im in NM though. Before coming on this site and reading all of these people who have analysts I was optimistic, but now that i havent received one email and dont have a clue who is who, Im pretty sure i didnt get it. Oh well though I will try again next year. good luck to you!

Thank you. Good luck to you too! If I don't get it this year, I don't think I want to re-apply next year because I will only receive one year of scholarship money for two years of service and I don't really want to do that. I was optimistic too before I got on here and saw that so many people received an email back in July but I'll just continue to pray about it and focus on starting nursing school in 3 weeks!!
You guys are not alone. I am in Ohio and also in the first funding preference. My GPA is 3.5, I have already completed 1 1/2 years of nursing school. I only have 2 semesters left. My credit is decent. I was also very optimistic until I read this forum. I have not received any emails or anything. I think there are a lot of us out there--and it may still be too early to give up hope. No one really knows how this whole process works and how the bureaucracy of the HRSA is functioning.
I got an email from my analyst saying that they needed the paperwork from my school because they are having problems processing my award. So, Im going to be having a fit at my FA tomorrow, ugh! But, it does seem hopeful!!!
That does sound really good!
I'm glad that my school cc'd the form to me when they sent it back to JV so I know he got it hehe.
Gosh, I think I am finally all squared away with all the verification! How would you all interpret this...I got a cc copy of an email my analyst sent to the director of my program and the registrar office (verifying if I pass all of my spring classes). The email subject line was "my full name CONTINGENCY TO ACCEPT APPLICANT FOR THE NURSING SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM." I hope that means that once everything was verified....I got the scholarship!??! hahahahaha I'm counting my chickens before they are hatched here!!
Oh yeah, I emailed my analyst just to make sure everything was verified and she said yes and it should be ok. I replied again and asked when will awards be made and she replied, "No later than 9/30/2010. Please be patient. At the moment I am extremely busy. You will hear from us. Thanks!"
Now I'm back to square one. If I remember correctly, if you do not get awarded you will be notified no later than 9/30/10! :uhoh3:

I'm driving myself crazy with this again... I can't help it! Good luck everyone!!

Well my acceptance into the BSN nursing program was based on whether or not I pass my spring semester courses. On the acceptance/verification form that was filled out, my director stated something to that sort or marked off a box (I can't remember exactly). So I'm assuming my analyst wants to verify that I did pass all my classes in order to be up for the scholarship.
But I think that's why she sent the email. I don't think it was a general email that would be sent to all applicants though.
