The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

Er...well....I wouldn't say that I am waiting for people to do stuff for me if I don't contact them (insinuating perceived helplessness??). As someone pointed out earlier, we aren't supposed to know about this step. If Sir VJ hadn't made the mistake of forwarding the email to the students, nobody would be contacting their schools to make sure they respond to the request for information...
I contacted vj and was told to forward the email to my financial aid counselor and he also asked for my financial aid counselor's contact info. Who cares if we weren't suppose to know about this step. I'm glad he sent it out by accident. It's your choice whether you want to contact your school's financial aid dept. but I most definitely would!
Well, it's going to be almost pointless for me to even contact anyone in the financial aid office at my school. No one is going to have any idea what I'm talking about, and I am going to just talk in circles to the people there, so I'm not going to bother. Like Britt said, we weren't even supposed to know about that email, so I'm just going to go on with life the way I would have if we hadn't received that email. Thanks for the 411 though. At least it will help those who may have an easier time with their schools.
Even though my financial aid office is THE SLOWEST ever to respond by email or even talk to by phone (at least an hour wait) I forwarded my email from JV. I want this scholarship SO BAD that I am willing to take useless steps to make it easier for the HRSA people.
BTW, anyone from Kentucky gotten any "you have the scholarship" emails? I haven't found a soul so far! Also, anyone who got the JV email got the "you have the scholarship" email so far? Last week it looked like most people got in on Tuesday so I am praying tomorrow is my (and the rest of us developing ulcers) day! :anbd:
sooo I accidently emailed that j.v. guy that sent out the form that was suppose to go to our school. Seriously it was by accident. I was trying to forward his email to my financial aid counselor and accidently hit reply instead. So he emailed me back and told me my school has not sent in the form and ask for my financial aid counselor's name and contact info. He said that the form does not need to be sent in by the 28th that "we can give them a couple more days" QUOTE and that I didn't have to worry! woooow...So I everyone who got that email definitely get in touch with your schools financial aid dept and make sure they send that in!
I sent mine in to my business office. I am so grateful that I go to a small University where you can talk to almost anyone. She sent me an email 2 hours later saying she would take care of it by tomorrow. This is all so confusing though because from reading what JV said back to you it would seem that those of us that were sent the accidental email were the ones that the schools were suppose to fill them out for so why is it that some of us only got the school form email. I know that it was not a mass emailing from the system because I changed my email with them Tuesday and the JV email came to my old address so it must have already been on a list or something.

I sent mines to my financial aid counselor who also sent it to the business office...JV seems to be very chill about the whole thing though!
I'm just not going to worry about this and whether or not my school got the email or not. I attend a very large school. Even though it was a community college (until just recently when they started offering Bachelor degrees), we have more students enrolled than just about all of the state universities, with 55,000 students. My school's twitter page had a message today "There are long waiting periods in our financial aid offices. We have a high volume of students and are trying to provide the best service". That, coupled with the fact that no one there is going to know anything, or have any idea who would, is just going to be a nightmare.
I have peace that whatever needs to get done, will. People in the past have been awarded this scholarship without having to contact their schools and people will be awarded this scholarship this year without having to do so as well.
The VJ guy said himself they have other resources to get the info they need if its not there by the due date. He's probably very chill with the whole thing because it isn't whats going to make or break us in getting the scholarship. I honestly don't think that they are going to penalize us for the school not returning documents on time, and I would probably bet the farm on that, so I'm not going to worry. If I had a financial aid contact or went to a smaller school, I would call, but I don't, so all I can do is wait the same way I would have done had we not received that email. It's nice to see that at least some of you can get somewhere with your school.

Was there such a line in the emails "you have the scholarship"? Am I missing something? I received the banking info email and the accidental one from JV. Was there another email I don't know about?
Was there such a line in the emails

When you guys are saying that you are forwarding the email and/or contacting your school, who exactly are you contacting? I know there was a representative listed on the initial NSP application but I can't remember who it was! Would I want to get in touch with someone from the nursing program, bursar's office, or from the office of financial aid?? Perhaps all three....!
