The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

the spread sheet on mine also said Baccalaureate, although I am in an AS program. It also had no information to identify me as the person for whom the information was requested.
I spoke with my contact at the school whom I had listed on the application, and she hadn't heard from them as of this afternoon. She is also going on vacation until August 4th, so let's hope this is all ok.
I emailed my analyst to let her know that this contact would be out of the office, and her email back made it seem like she didn't have any idea this mistaken email had gone out from JV.
I'm trying to remain calm and not jump to any conclusions. Makes me nervous she hadn't received anything. I wonder if someone called her later? I'm just going to remain positive and NOT freak out. :)
This is total crap and making us insane with "what if" scenrios and spectulation. I wish they would just give it to US ALL! There is a nursing shortage in this country and around the world. They need to help us get through school already so we can start putting our energy towards helping people. Rather, then having to worry about how we are going to pay for school!:redpinkhe
The excel worksheet appears that this person is looking for general information about the specific school on our app, fees, books, tuition and not necessarily about us specifically. Which is fine. I think it is being used just to figure out how much of a scholarship will be sent to that particular school for that particular program. That would explain why there is nowhere to place your name.

Forward the email to your contact to be safe....

Okay, I don't want to come across as the mean one here, but I hope you can take my comments here with a grain of salt... because you're not the only one here having what appears to be a minor freak-out over this latest HRSA soap-opera development.
First of all, and this may be blunt, the only person making you insane with scenarios and speculation is yourself. Take a deep breath. Realize for every "what if" you can think of, there are a thousand more you can't think of, and there's really no point in worrying about any of it. It's certainly unfair to blame HRSA for your stress levels.
Second, they don't "need" to help us get through school. This is our choice, to pursue/continue our education and enter the nursing field, and we are incredibly fortunate that there is some money set aside to help as many of us as they can, but there's absolutely no obligation for them to pay for everybody who wants to go to nursing school right now. There may be a nursing shortage (theoretically, in the future, at least) but there is certainly no shortage of nursing school applicants/students.
If you are starting school in the next month or so and you are still wondering how you're going to pay for school, it's time to figure it out, without relying on a scholarship. School is going to be enough stress without jumping in without your financial bases covered. It'll be wonderful if you get it, but don't let your Plan B remain ephemeral.

I think you maybe confused by what I am saying. I personally have taken care of how I am going to get through school this next semester. I have only a few people to thank for getting me into nursing school ( myself for studying my butt off and my family's emotional support). I am just tired of hearing the "they( HRSA) probly meant this" or "probly meant that". If it is meant to be it will be. In reality not everybody on this site will get the award but at least we tried. NOTHING BEATS A FAILURE BUT A TRY! So, before publicly posting something that is putting down what another person is saying please send them a personal message to clarify what they have posted on this forum.
Good luck with your future endeavors. Hope you can be the greatest nurse you can be, because with hard work, intgrity and determanation I know I will be!
