The HRSA Nursing Scholarship

Updated:   Published

The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.

HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.

All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.

The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.

Scholarship requirements:

To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.

Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.

Scholarship award covers:

  • Tuition and Eligible Fees
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses
  • An annual other reasonable costs payment

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Did everyone that received the first e-mail get this one? Just trying to figure if they are weeding people out or not.

It would have been a lot easier if they just sent us the list of finalists by mistake instead of this email :)

Yea that's what I told them. That I had gotten this new email and not the first email and he said as long as my email on the site was correct that it would be sent if I was supposed to get it. I am just going to be ****** if I was supposed to recieve an email and didn't get it. Grrr. The John Voo guy that sent out the school spreadsheet also said they would be sending out more emails til the end of next week. I assume they will be extending that July 30th deadline by the sound of it b

I'm telling you not to listen to the call center. If you got this last email, then I'm sure that you are a finalist. The call center said the same thing to me too. email me personally and I will give you my # to help you through this

Any hope out there for those of us who havent recieved anything yet!?? i feel more and more discouraged with the more emails everyone else is getting. :uhoh3:

hey i emailed the guy from hrsa....this is what he responded

we have already contacted the school representatives. we have other resources to help us calculate tuition and stipend allocations for students who qualify for the nursing scholarship program if we do not get the information by due date. hope this answers your question. thanks for your patience.

wonderful to know!

im here thinking, i bet v.j. is kicking himself right now that he mistakenly sent the students the email because now we know our schools need to complete this information. so now we are stressing...lol:uhoh3:

if we didnt know we wouldnt be calling/emailing, because technically we arent supposed to know about that step.

oh well at least they have other resources they use if it doesn't get back on time. i am just few of the lucky whose school is in session today, and that my financial aid personal got back to me...he said they called him and they are faxing the documents...which is weird since he "emailed" us...i mean if you were going to fax them then why even email??? i just want to know before my loans get pulled so i can cancel them.

Anyone still waiting on the email.... crazierthanyou (I think your email is correct... I got one today. I don't know if it is because I deleted mine the first day and told HRSA and they resent it but there is still hope.

Lol this is the most dramatic thread I've ever followed :) Yay for a woman dominated profession!!!

I'm not quite sure where this comment was going but,

Yay for a profession that has thus far been dominated for women... except for the significant and growing influx of men like myself who will be equally good at it.

Nevermind... it was meant to go to the school administrator but if I am on that list then should I have gotten the original email. Did anyone else get this and not the first email?
