The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

HRSA probably hates me now after calling them so many times. They probably put a big red X on my application but who sends such important notification through email. Like many others I empty my spam email box and don't look at it. Who wants to read how increase your member emails 20 times a day? Lets face it yahoo is not very reliable for sending and receiving sometimes. Called and changed to my Gmail account on Tuesday but the guy pretty much told me oh well if I missed the email I would be out of luck. Called again and the other guy said someone in the scholarship department would call within 72 hours, let's see if it happens. One lady there even told me to shut up. I am beginning to be happy that I didn't get an email, I am not sure I can handle 4 years of HRSA.
PattyLMT do not worry. You are so right! Why send out such an important notification via email? Especially in the spam folder. They told me to call back in a week. But with all of the postings they said their documents were due back in a week. Probably too late for me. That sucks. Oh well. I am hoping for you and me both that we can get this scholarship. We deserve it. I am a strong nursing student who needs funds. HELP-but the good thing is there is a bunch of other scholarships out there for nurses. Good luck to you. Kelli
no worries! i just spoke with an agent at hrsa and he said the first email was not intended to go out by any means. it was a mistake. the second email is just a clarification email. nothing worth hooting your horn about. i would not worry if i were you. i did not receive the first email, but did get the second. the email just stated that funding awards got pushed back a month until aug. 23rd.good luck to you all.

i dont know how true this is about the emails being sent out by mistake, if so when i called my analyst he would have told me that. i dont think you can go by what the hrsa rep says, but the analyst.
we all just need to wait and let hrsa do their job. im going to apply for another loan to cover my expenses because my bill cleareance is on august 28th...just in case
Ok, someone said the first email was a mistake. Are you talking about the email that asked us to send in documents? That was a mistake? I'm confused.
Not sure, I posted that, but again, I never received an email. I called and they rep, not an analyst told me that. I have a feeling they don't know what they are talking about.
Sorry, do as you are supposed too. I would at least.
if a hrsa phone rep said the first email (the documents and finalist email) was a mistake, well, i can't hardly believe that. why would they send out a mass email asking for us to fax our pertinent documents in?ok, someone said the first email was a mistake. are you talking about the email that asked us to send in documents? that was a mistake? i'm confused.
i don't think it was a mistake because i got a third email, this time from my personal analyst (about an hour ago) that reads (and i have x's where my analyst's name should be) :
nsp applicants:
unfortunately, at the present time the nsp program is inundated with phone calls and e-mails. we are processing all documentation that is faxed into the office we will notify you if we did not receive your information.
thank you.

this is the third email i have received from hrsa since tuesday; first the finalist email, then then this a.m. i got that other one with about 100 emails on it saying not to call or email, etc...from a man with initials a.w.., and this is the third one, this time from my personal analyst. i can't hardly believe the first one was a mistake, because these emails show they are trying to sort through all the documents.

i got the same email, but from my analyst.
I didn't get a third email yet, but the first email was definitely NOT a mistake. They wouldn't send out an email requesting documents to be faxed, that just doesn't make sense. Those reps give different info every time someone calls. I'm not even sure why people are still calling them and asking them questions. They obviously have no clue.

Hmmm, we have the same analyst and I didn't get one. But I'm not going to worry since it's really not anything important.

I have a feeling that those reps say whatever they can to get us off the phone. Can you imagine how many crazy OCD nursing students with high levels of anxiety - acting stressed out call them everyday??? They are probably hating life right now.
I can't imagine any rep would be willing to say that if you didn't get an email that you aren't going to get an award....I encourage us all to be patient!!! :-)
