The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

For all you waiting on emails, don't give up! I didn't get mine until 3:26 p.m. Central time. I've been following this board (but not posting) since the beginning! I felt so sad and depressed that everyone else was getting notification and I didn't get any...til today! I'm in Tennessee, have an EFC of 0, and will be full-time in a two-year program. I had my stuff faxed in an hour later. A double-whammy for me today; the Senate extended unemployment benefits today for those who had them expire, so I'll get backpay for that as well. God has been good to me...no sooner than I had rejoiced over getting my unemployment back, I got this scholarship email! Please, y'all don't lose faith. :redbeathe
3mckeens & Crazierthanyou, there is still hope!! Woot! Woot!!
I wonder if you faxed and mailed your original supplemental documents? They might have rec'd 2 copies of your info and that is why you rec'd 2 emails...just a thought. Congrats!
I only mailed one packet. My wild guess is that maybe it has something to do with the fact I live in California but my school is located in KY? Maybe the analysts from both of those states are the ones I got emails from??? Or maybe it just means I'm getting two scholarships and they will double my stipend and ORC? (KIDDING KIDDING!!)
anyone else have to fax more than once???
I faxed it 3-4 times before it went through. It kept coming back saying their fax was asleep.
Hey everyone,
I live in Texas and I just found this thread. I got my email yesterday afternoon. I got really excited but I didn't realize that even though I am eligible I still may not be selected to receive the award. (for the first five min. anyway) My EFC is also 0 and I don't have a previous degree. I'm enrolled in a 4yr program and I'll be a junior in Aug. For those of you who asked I spent like a month writing the essays, so who knows if that will pay off in the final selection. I will post again if I hear anything. The email said final selections would be determined by July 30th. Some of you had questions about the banking information, they asked for it in the email I received yesterday.
Good luck to all of you who are also waiting for final selection. I wonder how many eligible applicants we are going to be selected from? I saw there were 500 awards?
Like I said earlier, I'm new to this thread, but I did go back and read through some previous years' posts, and it looks as if everyone who got the email ended up getting the scholarship, and it seems like I remember some who didn't receive an email, languished for months waiting for an answer and got notified through regular mail. So to those of you who haven't gotten anything yet, I just don't think there is any way they've sent out 500 emails in 24 hours. Anyone else not get their email 'til today? I got mine about 3:30 p.m. Central time.
Did anyone else read on the HRSA webpage that if health insurance is required by your program that the school could include the cost with tuition and submit to HRSA?!?! I swore I read it somewhere!
Yep, I'm fairly sure health insurance (but only if required by the school) was one of the fees they would cover.

I have been following this thread since I sent in my app/docs May 2010. Rec'd my email yesterday about 6:32 am PDT. I know that it is possible to send a mass amount of emails at one time. Its an email blast. Maybe each analyst has a certain number of candidates and they send one general email. Just a thought. I could be wrong. The subject line of my email was very different from others I've seen on here. I have orientation in Southern Cali for a BSN program in a couple of weeks so I hope I get the letter or some kind of confirmation ASAP.
Good luck to everyone!!!!
