The HRSA Nursing Scholarship

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Updated:   Published

The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.

HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.

All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.

The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.

Scholarship requirements:

To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.

Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.

Scholarship award covers:

  • Tuition and Eligible Fees
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses
  • An annual other reasonable costs payment

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

I do too...

did you get the scholarship?

Anyone gotten the official letter from them yet? I forwarded the email to my schools tuition office but they asked if I'd gotten the letter yet.

Nope, I went to school today to clear my bill. The letter that they gave us is useless because it has no information on it regarding the amount of the scholarship and no personal info for the student ie. name, ss# etc. I called too see if they could fax a letter to the school and they said no I have to wait for the welcome packet; which hasnt been mailed yet. So I ended up having to do a pymt plan and paid almost $1800 today. Ultimately, I will get the money refunded, but its a little frustrating. Im glad I was able to do the payment plan.

has anyone from PA who has CL heard anything yet???????

Yeah I got the scholarship. Got the email on Wednesday morning

Got my rejection letter today. A little disappointed. But hey, then this gives me a chance to follow my original plan for the NP program that my school offers right after I finish my accelerated program. That means that in 2 years I WILL BE A NURSE PRACTITIONER! Congrats to all of you who received the award.

Specializes in care for my grandma with Altzheimer's.
Same!!!! Are you doing your clinicals in Berwick?

Hilarious, I almost did, I live much closer to there, but I was worried about how deserted that hospital always is, so I'm doing WBGH and Birchwood (I think) in Nanticoke.

I do think that means we're in the same class though, I'm pretty sure I'm in with the Berwick people, oh wait are you a first year or second?
