The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.
If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.
HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.
All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.
The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.
To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:
You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.
Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.
If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Wow... this is the second time since we have been assigned to analysts that she has been "out of the office" for multiple days! I'm surprised they are letting them take that much time off when they want to have awards made in less than two weeks. I guess there's no point in checking credit or email for anything from them for a while. I would assume though that she had pulled all of her credit and what not before she left... I can hope not. I am going camping with my husband this weekend and had hoped to have some sort of indication before I left so I didn't stress over it the whole time. That's not going to happen!
i have a feeling she hasn't left at all. i bet she is screening her emails....
i am with you on this one...i bet she had to put that so that we would stop emailing her because her vm doesn't say anything about being out of the office. i am guessing that she is in the office because she has to meet her deadline and i can't imagine them letting anyone leave when all of this is going on...more now than at any other time. i will tell you guys that reading this on their website does make me feel better...
"application status: if an applicant is selected to receive an award, he or she, will receive written notice no later than july 31, 2010. applicants not selected for an award will be notified no later than september 30, 2010.
applicants are urged to check their email daily after applying to the nsp. the nsp will notify applicants selected for an award by email. applicants may opt to accept or decline the nsp award. in order to accept a nsp award, awardees must sign the nsp contract, complete the online banking form for direct deposit and form w4. you will have up to ten business days to reply via email indicating acceptance of the nsp award and submit any requested documents.
receiving an award: the hhs disburses each monthly stipend and the one time other reasonable costs payment through an electronic funds transfer to the participant's checking or savings account identified on the banking information submitted through the online process by the applicant. the banking information will be collected when the recipient accepts the nsp award."
to me this is basically saying that as long as you get the documents back, you haven't defaulted on federal debt or child support...you are pretty much good to get it...

yeah but the email sent july 19th said differently cause they made it seem like it wasn't guaranteed and that they were sending it to finalists and alternates
I live in NJ, but my school is in PA. I have received the mistake email from VJ and nothing else. No credit check yet as of today.... Keeping hope alive though!
I believe this email from VJ was the last mass email that we all received.

I honestly believe she is in the office and is using that as a front...She's not my analyst though.
Joe, I just called the same lady I talked to the last time, and she said that KH is pulling credit checks in alphabetical order for the state. She has 15 states she is an analyst for so I would not freak out yet. I am Tn and have not had mine pulled yet either...
I am glad you found that out. Makes me feel a whole lot better!!! I was starting to wonder if all of KH's people had been forgotten about. Keep us posted bc I am sitting in TN also just waiting and waiting............
