Hi All!
I'm a crazy father of 2 ex-premed who just recently turned down Northwestern to go into a RN program.
I already have an Associate in Science, but I'll be getting another ADN and then go to a 4 yr school.
When I went to an info session about the RN program ill be trying to get into, out of like 70 ppl only 5 were guys.
So I want to know are there any men out there?
I'm a RN student graduating in May this year. Also a male, married to a beautiful young lady. Also a RRT/RPFT and have worked in Resp. Care for over 16 years. There are 5 guys (including me) out of 17 in our class. Men in the healthcare other than medicine are becoming more common. We have alot of men RNs at the hospital I practice Resp at. My brother in law is an RN in the ER. Most men go into management or ER, CCU, OR, etc. We are not alone. :Melody:
I've been a LPN since '92. We started out with 8 guys in a class of 60. We graduated 3 guys and 21 gals in that class. Starting LPN to RN in May...will have to wait and see how many of us as opposed to them there are :-P
BTW, I am also a father of 2 boys under the age of 3 right now. The wife got her BSN 2 years ago. I've been working in LTC for the past 6 years. Prior to that, Ortho, med-surg, occupational medicine, home health, and a GI office
Hey everyone,
I just joined, so I'm just posting an introduction! I'm a BSN student at the University of Central Florida, 1/118 total and 1/9 guys. I'll be graduating in may of 2008.
I enjoy reading all of the postings on here, especially the funny stories and comments. It's become my new coping mechanism to relieve the stress of nursing school.

I don't remember if I introduced myself here. I'm starting an Accelerated BSN program this fall in No. VA. I've got a BS in Health Science (Emergency Medical Services) and have worked as a medic, nurses aide and currrently work in an occupational health role. I'm really excited to get into my classes this fall. Whatch what you pray for Blove86....after you get teh letter, you have to wait to start!

Second semester RN student here. I'm glad to see I'm just one of the many guys swimming in the estrogen ocean that is nursing. I'm one of two guys in a class of 25. The other is teetering on the edge of failing out already. We have 18 PN's joining us as part of a bridge program and there is supposed to be one or two guys in that program.
Good luck all!
