:crying2:

This is my 3rd time try, which means if I fail this Sep 9th, then I have to go back to college take 8 months course again and pay 6k+ Canadian dollars

the 1st time pass line was 156, mine is 150, the 2nd was 150 my is 142...........

For prepareing this exam I did lots of work, but I feel all my study are useless, I bought books american edition, I did all review question include CD question, I can say I do not have any problems with American style, but when I am trying to practice PN Guide those questions really confuse me, I bought some samole questions for review from CNO which most close to CNO-RPN exam, but all questions without answer, they do not give you answer, I do not know which one I did is right and which one is wrong, and why, even too difficult to find answer from internet...

Now I feel like I'm blind, lost, and hopeless...

Here is a question about MS, asks "which behaviour whould indicate to the PN that the disease has progressed beyound its early stages?

A. Choking on solid

B. Ataxic gait

C. Report of tingling in extremities

D. Having periodic tremors in extremities

......

:banghead:

honestly, I have to say I hate CNO

Sorry that you have so much trouble, but...it's maybe not a good idea to review american style questions when you write a canadian exam.

Then, this type of question is a pure knowledge question, if you know the early symptoms, you will know the answer.

So I wonder if you study the wrong stuff??

Thanks 5cats for your suggestions

the early symptoms for MS I checked the book it says "Ataxic gait" but internet "tingling in extremities" ...

What book are you using?

Ataxic gait is certainly not an early symptom, you need quite some nerve damage allready, until you are getting that.

Did you get the study guide published for the CPRNE? The one I used had the answers and the rationales for the answers in the back.

First take steps that make you feel hopeful, write messages on large post it notes that say I will read the exam questions carefully. I will understand what is being asked. I will see the most logical answer. I will pass the CNO RPN exam. Stick the post its on your mirror and above your kitchen sink. Read them out loud every time you brush your teeth, comb your hair, wash your hands or wash your dishes. Say positive things out loud and you will feel better about studying.

Second look at the MS question, and ask yourself , in most diseases, do symptoms that are more life threatening occur early or late in the disease?

You can do it xoxoxo

You welcome xoxoxox

loriangel14 and 5cats both asked what book you are using to study with, is it the canadian pn exam guide? If not, you might want consider buying it from the bookstore because it is be better to study from a canadian guide than an american guide when preparing for a canadian exam.

keep studying and stay positive xoxoxox

From reading your original post, my first thought is "English isn't your first language", also your reference to "Canadian dollars".

Are you reading and understanding the question? Is your English comprehension adequate? I've seen many students who have difficulties with written and spoken English be admitted to PN courses and then struggle with the language issue.

The Canadian guide is the ONLY way to go with this exam because it relates to the education of PNs in Canada and much of the psycho-social aspect corresponds to the norms in Canadian society.

If you are using an American guide to study from it will be no help. You need to get a Canadian guide as the exams are very different. I agree with Fiona, it sounds like comprehension of English may be a stumbling block.

Good luck to everyone who is writing the RPN exam Sept 9/09

hey girly, im going to write mine tomorrow.. Sept 15, 10.

what I did was study all my power point slides.. from Path, Anatomy, Health classes. I reviewed them. I studied The Canadian PN Exam Prep Guide. this book really helped out, gives you the rational for the answers. I understand your frustration but you Must think Positive! and be sure of yourself... let me know how your exam goes...
