thanks from me

I read a lot of threads from student nurses who have such bad experiences with nurses in clinicals. I wish them all better experiences i the future- but I personally have been thrilled with the vast majority of the nurses I have worked with in clinicals. The vast majority have gone out of their way to make my learning experience well worth it, and although i have thanked many of them in person, I want to just send out appreciation to all of you nurses who do bend over backwards to help students learn.

It may not be exciting to write about, but I would just like you all to know how much students appreciate your effort.

thanks!

I'll second that. I have had some truly awesome experiences this year. It's been a great learning experience and I've definitely come into contact with several nurses that I can only hope to be like!!!:nurse:

This is so refreshing to hear. Thank you for posting.

eak16 thanks:) that is the way it should be.

i love to work with students, I had some with me for a delivery yesterday.we all had a good time:) even let 2 of them practice their IV skills on me.

Thank you--it is good to get the positive feedback, and to know that we "worker bees" can make a difference to student nurses. Good luck with your studies!

I have been on both sides of this fence, I have been the student learning and had some great mentors to teach me the ropes and I hope that I have helped other people be all they can be as a nurse. I enjoy having students and it gives me a great amount of accomplishment helping new people learn thier jobs.

I hope that all students remember that when they become mentors and help all those that come after you.

eak16,

Glad you're having a good experience!!

Sending continued positive thoughts your way!!!

In school I worked with one nurse in the OR, who wasn't friendly, whom I just left alone, got through my day and went home. But I worked with literally dozens of helpful, friendly professional nurses.
