I just have to share, as I have just landed, what I feel is the best position I have EVER been offered!
I have accepted a full time position, at a Mental Health facility here in a rural area of W. Washington! I have been offered not only a totally excellent salary, benefits, tutition reimbursement to start immediately, but free housing, with utilities paid on the 17 acre property with a lake!!! And free meals! Their also going to have an onsite daycare, so I can bring my grandson to work with me!!!!
At this point I need somebody to pinch me quick!!! Because I'm having a hard time taking all of this in!:chuckle
Wow. Sounded surreal to begin with and obviously it had to be something major for you to change your mind.

Do you have a place to stay in the meantime? I know you said that you were planning to move into a living space in the community there, no? If not, you're always welcome to stay here with my family here in Maryland- although that might make for a long commute in the mornings...

My you know I'm very sorry to bring everyone down with this, but I just wish I could warn others before they get trapped into this deal. But I have already tried to warn those who are out there now, and no one is listening. Some are already afraid to go out there, and they already feel their have got themselves into a bad situation. But for some reason they haven't found the strength or the guts to back out, and run in the other direction!
I guess money will cause people to do things they normally wouldn't have even thought of doing! I just feel badly for the residents there, as there are those who can't go anywhere but there. Those who had the resources to leave, have done so, or are trying to find another place now. Really sad for them, more than me:o
You need to report the situation to the state. I can't imagine it is legal for an unlicensed (yes, she is UNLICENSED if her license has expired) in charge of a rehab/mental health facility. Report the situation ... you have a license & are aware of the situation. You don't need to go into every detail ... but you really should report the situation to the state and the nursing board of examiners.
Brownie - I think sometime soon we need to plan another trip to go see Armondo the Pool Boy again just to take your mind off your troubles ( or was that the Ken doll?). Get out the pictures and think pleasant thoughts!

susanmary, I can only say that I have purposely left some info out in my posts. I'm sorry, but in order to keep this general I not able to say much more:). But believe me, I have taken a serious path in dealing with this.

I still have his pic, but still can't find my USB cord to my cam to download it! And YESSSSSS we must go on vacation again. And Pennie told me that you said she and I were a like as I gambled while you slept..:chuckle! Even though you gambled better than me, as you won a lot more money!:chuckle
