I PASSED MY NCLEX....I AM AN RN!! Wow I took the exam on Wednesday and called the BON (North Carolina) this morning as I was driving home and I got my license number....I started bawling like a baby and laughing so hard at the same time...people thought I'd lost it but I didn't care...I AM AN RN! I still let out a scream q5mins...guess I will for a while!
I just wanted to say than you to all of you who post and respond to posts on this website. Logging on everyday really kept me going. Your comments were remarkably consistent and I went in knowing EXACTLY what to expect...not in terms of the questions but the emotions, the anxiety...all that, and knowing in advance helped me deal with the emotions real quickly and really focus on getting as many questions right as I could. I had around 10 select all that apply (couldn't believe it!), 2 calculation fill-in the blanks. One was ridiculously easy (toward the beginning of the test), and the other was impossibly difficult (#70) I had to go from milliunits/minute to milliliters/hour ...yeah that's right...I worked on it for 5 mins and I think I still had it wrong :rotfl: Every other question for me was who would you see 1st? Whose call would you return 1st? Which situation would the nurse intervene? Got tons of home health teaching too i.e. which response would prompt intervention e.g. a diabetic client re-using needles at home or putting lotion between the toes! Gosh I knew and hoped it would shut off at 75 just because it was so darn hard, but when it did, I thought I was going to pass out! I am glad it is over though...had me a margarita this afternoon...my cheeks are burning but I can't stop smiling
Thanks to all of you...you are the best and you'll make awesome nurses!!!

Congrats to you!
I also passed my NCLEX-RN exam. I had the same exact question with the diabetic reusing their needles.....FUNNY! I only had 1 math question and take a look at how hard my math question was.....Pt. is on Oxycontin 20 mgs BID. You have 5mg tabs...how many tabs will you administer with each dose? A-DUH!!!!!! That was my ONLY math question.......Thank God! I had a BUNCH and a mean a bunch almost scary how many PRIORITY and delegation questions I had. A lot of PEDS too......oh yeah psych also. Not much med-surg though.
I just took my test June 28th and found out I passed on JUne 30th, through the Quick Results which NY particpates in.
Hey but it is over......Thank God

:balloons: congratulations to both newly license nurses on this thread! remember to always stop and smell the roses as you progress in your nursing careers. it's very easy to get sidetracked with the stressful shifts you will have. embrace the goodness of life, and don't let anyone get you down along the way. smile a lot, laugh a lot, share some humor along the way. we all need to give laughter with a sense of earnest humor, and hear it coming back at us. :flowersfo :icon_hug:  :biggringi
