thank you note after a shadowing???

I just shadowed today for a few hours at a hospital. Should I write a thank you note to the manager and the nurse who I shadowed with? I wrote a thank you note to the manager after I interviewed last week. Just wondering if I should write another one?

yes, it would be appreciated

Just curious. What should I say, since I had written a thank you note to the manager already after the interview.

Just something short..thanking the nurse who you shadowed for his/her time...for answering any questions you may have asked.

I would. I was in the same boat..interviewed and later that day I sent an email to the nurse manager I interviewed with. I emailed instead of hand written because the nurse manager was leaving two days after my interview for a confrence for a week. I wanted her to get the thank you before she left.

After my shadow, I sent an email to the same nurse manager telling her I enjoyed my shadowing experience (gave some examples of such), that I appreciated the opportunity to shadow, that after shadowing I was even more convinced it was a good fit. To the nurse I shadowed, I just gave her a simple thank you for letting me follow her, that I learned (XYZ from her regarding the unit) and thanked for her patience when answering my dozens of questions.

Ok thanks so much, CT Pixie.

No problem..anytime

Great idea! Do it. You can bet not everyone will think of it.

I also thought it was appropriate to e-mail the manager after the interview and after my shadow time. I thanked the nurse I shadowed with on the evening I did the shadowing. Yes, I think it is always appropriate to express your gratitude.

'Dear Abby' has always said that a thank you note is always appreciated. Always. No one ever questions it. And it's a sign of good manners.

I sound like a great-granny! :yes::roflmao:

Are you an experienced nurse? Who will be reading what you write about your experience?
