Texas Women University FALL 2016

Published

Anyone applying to Texas Women University? I recently attended an information session and spoke to Ms.Victoria the nursing coordinator for TWU. What are your stats? What advice to you give when studying for the TEAS? I know you have to apply for TWU first then get accepted. Then you apply to TWU NURSING. But I am somewhat confused on that process. I went to the apply portal and it does not give me the option to apply for FAll of 2016. I may have to wait. Any current TWU students that can give me any advice on the application process. It will be of great help. Thank you!

I also finished my application in NursingCAS. I just received notification that my last 2 transcripts were received today. Yeah! So now, everything is in except my TEAS V which I will take at the end of this month. Wish me luck!

I got an email saying that my transcripts were verified and my GPA calculated and sent to TWU. Now the waiting game! Hopefully with this automated system we'll hear from them faster.

Good luck on the TEAS!

Hi guys! I'm starting at TWU Dallas in the Spring. I just wanted to encourage you guys to take Patho before you start the program if at all possible. (Especially if you plan to take it in Dallas - not sure about other teachers but... yikes!). It will really make your life so much easier!

Yikes because the class is hard or yikes because you don't like the teacher?

The class is hard but doable. The teacher isn't the greatest. However, she does curve each test. It is basically a self taught class. Your J1 semester will be that much easier if you complete it before hand!

What is pathophys like at the Houston campus? Also, how can you take this class without being enrolled in the nursing program or did you take it at a community college? Thanks for the advise!

Patho is technically not a "nursing" course. It is BIOL 4344 so you are allowed to take it without being accepted into the nursing program. You just have to apply to TWU and be accepted to the university.

Ok something to consider. Thank you

Hey there! I'm excited to apply for fall 2016 at Dallas. This will be my third attempt due to low Teas V scores. I finally did well on my exam this time with an overall score of 89. My stats are as follows: Reading 88 Math 96 Science 89 English 83 GPA 3.9 NO bumps or preferences.

I am glad I took Patho last spring in Dallas. I made an "A" in the class because I only had two classes that semester. I highly recommend taking before nursing school!!! Also, I recommend taking the Teas anywhere BUT PSI...JS

The exam they use is a different version and harder than that of UT schools. Good luck everyone! I can't wait to get my acceptance letter in March...(The law of attraction!!!).;)

I won't be able to take Patho this Spring since I work full time currently. Thank you for the tip though!

What were your scores on the first two attempts at the TEAS V if you don't mind telling me?

I had medical issues. I found out I had a four pound tumor encompassing my entire abdominal cavity. My first exam I scored a 74 over all with Science being the lowest at 65%. My second attempt was just weeks after surgery (at the end of August) to make the spring deadline. No surprise I did worse on all sections with Science at 33%. The first two exams I took at PSI were the same and much harder than my third attempt at another testing site. PSI uses a different version than everyone else. I hope this helped.

Has anyone finished the nursing CAS process? I was wondering how long it takes them to finalize and send your application once all the transcripts are in. Thanks for any help!
