Texas Tech University ABSN 2024

Published

Hello! This might be a little early, but I wanted to create a group for those applying to Texas Tech ABSN 2024. With applications due in the coming months, I was hoping to have this space for anyone to submit tips or questions that may come up. Thanks!

Hi everyone! I am extremely late to this forum, I definitely wish I found this earlier LOL. I have been extremely nervous about this whole application process especially because of the video essay's. I just graduated from Texas Tech in May with my BS in Human Sciences w/ concentrations in HDFS, human sciences, and health professions. I have an overall GPA of 3.3 and a science GPA of 3.0, I also have 2 years of healthcare experience. In 2020 I applied twice to the traditional BSN program at TTU but unfortunately was rejected. This is my 1st time applying to the ABSN program and I was pretty confident until I did the video essay's and now I'm even more nervous to see that there were 600 applicants??? Does anyone happen to know (roughly) how many people are accepted overall? I am extremally nervous and I don't think I can take another rejection email LOL. I am trying to remain confident and manifest getting in but this whole waiting period is making me a nervous wreck. Anyways, I am wishing everyone the best of luck and I hope to get the chance to meet some of y'all!

Ahh it nice seeing a Tech graduate! I was going to apply for the traditional in 2020, but opted not to due to fear of rejection because I repeated chem and math unfortunately. I believe you'll have a better chance with the ABSN ?. My advisor told me if you are a recent graduate or first generation you tend have a higher possibility to be accepted as those are two factors they consider along with the grades/GPA, but I've heard people between any GPA getting accepted. I highly believe the interview is what will determine acceptance.

Yes indeed it is!! Thank you for responding! The interview part makes me nervous because I feel as if I answered the questions pretty good but the delivery was not the best.. I am hoping they can understand that due to the fact that we weren't actually talking to interviewers. I also completely butchered the question about core values I definitely was caught off guard by that question. I hope the rest of my application makes up for that fact. Thanks for the info!

Has anyone else who applied to other schools in Texas heard back yet from those schools

I applied to a Fairfield University and was accepted

Those interview questions were due awhile ago. I am a little confused by your question! That was the final step of the process

Right, interviews and essays should've been submitted no later than August 11th. Anyone selected to move to the interview/essay round that didn't submit their material by the deadline August 11th applications will be defaulted and no longer considered. Have you submitted your videos/essay? Your question is a little confusing.

Yes TTU made a mistake on my application requirements and I just got notified this morning to complete the essay portion as they were at fault. SO any advice for essay I feel lost  is the video 6 questions answered in 3 minutes or for each question 3 minutes? is the written essay timed?

On this post we can't put essay questions or video questions correlated to the interview process this would technically be academic dishonesty and this can be flagged to the program.  Good luck ?

I agree! Definitely not asking for direct questions. Just asking for tips as I am nervous on how this works. Question on the essay videos: does it directly go to the next one or do you click start for each video?
