Hi all! I am applying to Texas Tech's fall 2015 program. I filled out the application, and sent off my transcripts today!! I was hoping some of you could answer a few questions for me!
Did any of you apply before actually graduating nursing school? I graduate this May.
What did your GPA look like? I have around a 3.3 (not sure if this will hurt or help me)
I couldn't find any info on how many students they actually accept a semester vs. how many apply, so I'm not sure if this program is really competitive. Just trying to get an idea of how hard it is to actually get into this school.
Thanks KR_RN! I figured it was 5 week classes. I want to get my BSN done as quickly as possible to open the door for other job opportunities. Is there a special acceptance process for the accelerated program or is it just by choice?
I also applied a few weeks ago for the 2015 Fall start. I graduated with my ADN May of last year. I think my GPA was around a 3.7. I'm so anxious :) I looked at past posts to see when students were accepted. It seems like the last two years the students found out their acceptance status at the end of May to the end of June. That's sooo long. They should notify us by e-mail I believe. I'm definitely going to opt for the six month route. Can't wait! Good luck to us all!!

Yea I think we should know something April-May. That's such a long time to wait!!! Hopefully we will be classmates then!!
Hi everyone, chiming in to say that I also applied to this program back in January. I live in San Antonio, graduating this March with an ADN and hoping to take the NCLEX almost immediately (or at least by late April) and then moving to Dallas. I think I read somewhere that we'll know by April 15.
Hello, I also applied and am waiting for my acceptance. Texas Tech requires statistics for admission. I was not accepted the first time I applied because I had not taken stat yet. Also, from what I understand they do accept everyone who meets the minimum requirements. Req letters are not necessary. As long as you have the required classes, meet the minumum GPA, and have a license in good standing, etc you should be accepted. I also read on the website that we would find out by 4/15 but I can no longer find that information. I am hoping to find out soon. I certainly meet all of the minimum requirements but still want that acceptance email! Good luck to all!
That's good to know!! I have all of the requirements so hopefully I'm good. I keep checking my email and merlin account hoping for some news...but nothing so far
