I got my acceptance letter yesterday for AGACNP with RNFA! ?

Just got the update through email: "We expect decisions to be made in mid-December 2020 and decisions will be sent via email".

Oh yeah I can't imagine working 5 days a week and doing classes and clinicals. I work 3 12s right now Wed-Fri. but I really need to keep working throughout because bills gotta be paid somehow. Hopefully it's all manageable. Wonder how often we need to do clinicals once they start.

@mkicks8488 I think they'll let us know maybe around December. Also, there is no interview process for the NP degrees at UAB from my understanding.

@SurgicalRN Yes. I plan on working full-time. Don't really have an option to scale back because of all the bills, so I really hope it's manageable. Not sure how often we'll have clinicals per week once they start. Right now I work 3 12's Wed-Fri.

@SurgicalRN Going to submit mine here probably tomorrow. Hey quick question. Are you going to be working full-time during this program?

@SurgicalRN Oh I agree, its always PAs we see but NPs are just as qualified. So excited/nervous to start ? Yeah I think you're right. I wanted to make sure to follow prompt strictly too since they won't really even look at it if you don't. Forgot about using EBP citations though so I'll need to adjust it a bit.

@SurgicalRN Oh yay! Glad to see someone else in this specialty. I'll probably submit mine this weekend. Still tweaking essay. I would be curious to know if you also cited sources in statement essay or used a reference page. I know it says use evidenced based but other places I'm reading says to not cite on a personal statement. Last thing I got to figure out before sending it in.

@1glamrn True, guess I do need to add a citation in there just in case. The paper is definitely taking me the longest. This is the only school I'm applying to, only program that I know of that does this dual specialty.

@1glamrn Oh yes, the references LOL. Trying to decide if I need cited sources as well and trying to get this APA format down. Which program are you applying to? And yes, I absolutely think the supervisor position will give you a boost, they love to see leadership skills.

Finishing up application now. Just proofreading essay and I think I'm done. Applying for the AGACNP with RNFA sub-specialty. 6+ years experience (2.5 years med-surg, 4 years OR). GPA, I think if I calculated correctly, should be around 3.8 for last 60 hrs. Super nervous, but super excited at the same time. Hope we all get in ?

Guess we're starting August 19th instead. Has anyone received the virtual orientation stuff yet?
