Texas Tech Accelerated 2nd Degree Program 2021

Published

I’m not sure if it’s too early to start this thread, but anyone on here planning on applying to Texas Tech’s Second Degree program in May?

Has anyone started doing their background checks? Are we supposed to recieve an email from the Board of Nursing so we can start the process? I haven’t receive anything and I’m starting to get worried.

@TTUHSC I already did mine this Summer for another school so my process was different. But if you have an interview scheduled, you will receive a packet with information on it to start them. If you already had your interview, the packet you received with the link will have the fast pass to schedule your fingerprinting with Identogo.

@jgiff Yes may be an obvious answer to this question but I figure it doesn’t hurt to ask anyway. Are you submitting the same blue card for every school you apply for?  No need to go through the same process again, correct?

Does anyone know when the second wave of interview invites will go out?!

@TTUHSC I think it should be the same cause it is going through the Board of Nursing but I am not 100% sure. I actually might email just to double-check. Thank you for bringing it up.

@jgiff thank you! I was trying to schedule for my CBC online and every time I put my SSN it says that it’s invalid. I don’t know if I should just show up at the office and sign up there or just give them a call first instead.

Specializes in medical laboratory scientist.

@TTUHSC same for me as well. I keep getting invalid. I’m just going to call them on Monday.

@TTUHSC and @lab.scientist.ashwhen I did mine for another program, we had to fill up a form first to the program allowing them to submit my information to Identogo, and then I receive an email from Identogo to schedule an appt. That took about 2 weeks for Identogo to send an email to schedule.

Was that message after using the Fast-Pass code link? It would be best to contact them on Monday.

Have any of yall had yall’s interviews? They explain the process in one of the breakout rooms about the fingerprinting for the board of nursing.

Just to add to this, they mentioned that we should wait until we get emails to start the background check/fingerprinting process! This could take up to two weeks. They also noted we should start figuring out our immunizations now!

@cp103 ahh that makes sense. I already had mine done and was planning on submitting mine so I wasn't paying close attention to that detail. Thanks for clarifying.

PS. Actually I think I may have been pulled into the interview when they were talking about it.

I accidentally completely exited out of the meeting after my interview was over. Were we supposed to submit anything to the admins in order for them to be able to send our information to Identogo? I know they said something about receiving an email from the Texas board of nursing letting us know if we need to do/redo/don’t need to do the fingerprint process and then going from there.
