@missnica mine was close to 500. It was 498. I had to make the decision of omitting some of the good parts of my essay, but overall I was satisfied on the outcome. I think I could express my reasoning on “Why I wanted to become a nurse” if there was no word limit. However, having a word limit also shows that you know how to follow direction & to adapt in any given situation. I wouldn’t necessarily worry about exceeding the maximum word on your essay though. As long as you aced your interview, it all evens it out.

Has anyone received an email to from The Board of Nursing or any email to start doing your Criminal Background Check? I haven’t receive anything after my interview, & I don’t know if this is something that I just wait for them to send me the green light to go or do I have to do it on my own. I opened up the attached folder in our interview email with instruction on how to sign up for a CBC, but everytime I put my SSN, it comes back invalid so I don’t know if my info has already been sent by TTUHSC to the Board of Nursing. I am kinda worried right now about it.

@flows67 im pretty sure that you have to send all transcripts from all universities you’ve attended even if it’s already listed as transfer to your last university/transcript. It doesn’t matter if you’ve only taken 1 course from a community college, it needs to be requested separately. Email or call Cindy right now.

1st wave, we received our interviews between 11AM - 12:30PM ... so I’d say just wait for a bit, it will come soon if u haven’t receive yours yet.

@jgiff thank you! I was trying to schedule for my CBC online and every time I put my SSN it says that it’s invalid. I don’t know if I should just show up at the office and sign up there or just give them a call first instead.

Has anyone started doing their background checks? Are we supposed to recieve an email from the Board of Nursing so we can start the process? I haven’t receive anything and I’m starting to get worried.

Does anyone know what is the cutoff grade (science, cumulative, prereqs, etc.) for last years ABSN cohort?

I just received an invitation for an interview! It’s finally happening guys! ?

Has anyone received an email about the ABSN essay? It says my application isn't complete and I need to submit an essay... I wasn’t aware that we were supposed to. Am I past the deadline?

Did anyone receive interview invites yet? Will they let us know if we don’t get invited for interviews? My transcripts & all other required documents are completely checked off. Both my cGPA & sGPA are within a 3.5- 3.75 range. I feel like this years going to be a bit tough for some of us since there’s more applicants & the # of slots is probably still the same or even lesser. Hopefully my grade is competitive enough to at least get an interview. I see other applicants in here sharing their 3.8 and above grades so it made me a bit discouraged. I should’ve aced more classes LOL. Also, does any one know any practice questions for the interview portion? I’m not the best when it comes to public speaking. Thank you in advance!

Hey there! I also applied this Spring 2021 for the VBSN program. Both my primary & secondary locations were Lubbock. I’m anxious to here back from Admissions about our invites to get interviewed. Hopefully we hear something next week!

When should we here back from admissions whether we’re rejected or getting interviews? Has anyone recieved any message from admissions since the application closed on July 15, 2020?
