I know applications are just going out but I thought I would start a thread so that anyone applying to Texas State this semester can share their stats/questions/comments
Im currently sitting at a:
Prerequisite: 3.55
Science: 3.39
Teas: 93 composite & 99th percentile
What about you guys?
Hey guys! I am also waiting to hear back about my application. I am really nervous! Do y'all think my stats are good enough to get me into the program?
Overall GPA: 3.36 (I still have to take history 2 and philosophy)
Science GPA: 3.6
TEAS composite: 90.7
Reading-87.2
Math-96.9
Science-93.6

I am a transfer student and what I think is really holding me back is my overall GPA. I'd love to hear any and all thoughts about my chances of acceptance. Good luck to everyone!

You have a great TEAS score + Science GPA, but you are right about your overall. If you can make an A in your final classes, maybe perhaps you'll get bumped to an overawe 3.4 GPA which should be somewhat competitive. Finish strong!
TXST should send you information about everything you need to do. You wont get confirmation that they retrieved your application yet. I believe I got mine sometime end of feb and early march.
Hey, I know your already at St Davids, but could you tell me how classes are scheduled weekly? Like do you go to class T/R only or do you have class M-F? Is everything mandatory or can you make your own schedule?
I live in San Marcos and I'm thinking about staying to live here since I love this place but if it's too difficult to communte, I guess I'll have to leave to RR ( if i get accepted fingers crosse). What do you think?

I would suggest you move. It would be to much of a commute everyday and then when clinicals start you will have to wake up extremely early. We already stay up all night as it is studying. There are people who live pretty far and they are making due but I wouldn't risk it. It is all up to you and what you think you can handle; however, I think it wouldn't be the best choice. There are some people this semester that go to Belton for clincal and we dont have a choice in where we are put so you could pull the short end of the straw and have to drive extremely far. Everyone I know who was San Marcos students originally have all moved up to Round Rock. We have no flexibility in our schedule. What they choose for us to do is what we have to do. The first semester you will have one day off but even though you have no class scheduled for that day you still have to go to school for other reasons ( Check offs, Sim Lab, etc ) So you will have class M-F and only one clinical day, which was easy. The most you get to "Customize" your schedule is like if you want a Weds or Fri Clinical/SimLab, but like I said you will be at the school the other day anyways.
I live in Kyle so if we both get in, we could carpool!
Thats a great idea. Making friends quick and tackling nursing school would be your best bet. Yall will probably either A) Have to take the toll everyday or B) Wake up early enough to beat that traffic.
Austin only gets bigger and it is soooo busy in Austin and then again when you get to where our school is located.

I feel you , thanks man. How do you live at RR right now? Like do you live with other students as roomates or random roomates or your own place?

Have you gotten any kind of communication on whether they received your app yet? I haven't seen anything yet myself. Also if anyone knows if transfer in did you do orientation or advising yet? Was going to wait bit then got paranoid that maybe should have done it before application in ?
