Texas State University Fall 2017

Published

I know applications are just going out but I thought I would start a thread so that anyone applying to Texas State this semester can share their stats/questions/comments

Im currently sitting at a:

Prerequisite: 3.55

Science: 3.39

Teas: 93 composite & 99th percentile

What about you guys?

Hey what's up, glad to see someone make one of these threads. I'm currently just waiting for one of my professors to send me my letter of reccomendation and I'll have everything set to apply to Round Rock next week.

I've taken all my classes at Texas State, so idk if that helps.

Overall GPA: 3.84

Science GPA: 3.6

Overerall TEAS: 90

I fee like I have a really competitive GPA/TEAS score, but I still need 17 hours of prereqs to finish. I know the maximum is 18, but do ya'll feel that is too much? I still need micro, A&P part 2, english lit, art, and history 2.

I'm a Junior at TXST SON. Everything you have is perfect!!! You are probably going to get in. Don't worry about those 17 hours though.

You are golden. I know it seems like those 17 hours may make a difference, they won't. You'll get in.

Lol funny seeing you here man. I was browsing the Class of 2016 thread a while ago and I recognized your avi, congrats on getting in fam.

How is the atmosphere over at Round Rock? Are you a transfer or also a former San Marcos TXST student

I am an older transfer student, I already have a BS in Bio and taught for 10 years. Some of my previous prereqs are not that great but I have an 3.75 since starting back, my teas was 91. I still have nutrition, Micro and may retake Alg I this summer. Really hoping to get in no matter what!

Hi guys! I will be applying next Fall 2017.

I have a question for Nursing majors at Texas State about finding a good reference! Which science courses did you ask a professor to recommend you from? I'm only beginning my second semester at Texas State this spring but I wasn't able to get to know my professors well enough last semester to be able to ask them that in the future, and I am worried I won't have a reputable recommendation.

Thanks for any advice and good luck to you all!

I was a transfer student into TXST-RR. I lived in the RR area prior to starting school here, but it is great. There isnt much of a college environment up north but the school itself is amazing. Everyone is like family

I had my GOVT prof to write mine just because I had her two semesters in a row and she knew me very well by the time I was about to apply for nursing school.

Did you have a lab last semester? I had my micro prof. (who also taught our lab) do mine.

I also came in as an "adult learner." There are a few of us in the program- it's been interesting to get back to being a full time student.

Anyone taken the TEAS Exam twice? I currently have an appointment to retake it on Tuesday but I am seriously considering not doing it. First attempt scores:

Composite 90%

Reading 91.5%

Math 100%

Science 80.9%

English 83.3%

Would yall retake it?
