Texas CRNA Applicants 2020

Updated:   Published

Hello to all. I am applying to Texas CRNA schools to start in Summer/Fall of 2020 and wanted to start a thread for others who are also applying to be able to communicate and share questions, encouragements, stats etc. So far I have applied to TCU in Ft Worth and Ut Houston. I will be applying to Baylor College of Medicine as well as Texas Wesleyan when the applications open for those schools as well.

As far as stats. I've worked in ICU for 5 years, currently at a mixed ICU that includes Trauma, CVICU, Neuro, Surgery, and Medical ICU. Graduated back in 2014 with my BSN with a 3.6 GPA, CCRN certified, just completed PALS, and taking the GRE next month.

I look forward to chatting with others who are applying!

Same here, at 11:30!

Good luck everyone please give tips. I will be applying again next year.

Let us know how it goes! I feel like I know nothing about their interview process.

I haven't made one but I wouldn't be opposed to one at all!

I just made the facebook group titled TCU DNP-A Nurse Anesthesia Class of 2022 for all who want to join. It's a closed group so I'll just accept you if you request to join

How was the interview at UT?

I just did my interview! Did anyone do theirs interview yet?? I answered a few clinical questions wrong:(

Mine is later this week, from other forums I've read, it seems UTH is a hard interview ? Was it as tough as everyone says it is?

Actually it was not as hard as I thought it would be! But I still stumbled a lot when they asked me questions I knew! It was all nerves! Good luck you will do great just be yourself it was manageable really!

It was definitely nerve wracking! I for one definitely felt like I psyched myself out and in retrospect, it was actually not bad! Some advice I would give is to be yourself, you can take a minute to answer questions - they ask broad questions so that you can elaborate on your experiences, so definitely have a couple scenarios in mind to share that highlight your strengths. It’s intimidating for sure, but you know what you’re getting yourself into, you’ve been preparing for this!!! Leave your nerves at the door and steer the interview how you want it to go. Best of luck!

Any current updates for Tex Wes program. I’m finishing my app now.

No. They said they were suppose to send a follow up email to interviews last week but still haven’t gotten anything
