Texas Children's Summer 2020

I wanted to start this for students/first year nurses who are applying at Texas Children's for the summer 2020 cohort, the application should open end of February/March. If anyone has insight to the firm timeline, good contacts, unit specific knowledge, this would be a good place do talk about it!

Has anyone heard anything today? I thought today was the day we would get something ?

Heard from a friend who was told that they have cancelled the Summer cohort... ?

Sure would be nice to still have a confirmation from TCH though.

I ended up staying with an offer from the children’s hospital that I received in February in my home city, but I know new hires are a problem in pediatric hospitals because of COVID ? Ours had to retract a ton of new grad offers unfortunately. Best of luck to you all - remember this situation isn’t permenant!

Do you know if they meant cancel it as in not give offers to those who interviewed and restart with new applicants, or just cancel the start of Summer and push it to later?

I just spoke with Ian Koh and he told me that HR has not informed him that the residency is cancelled yet

He said he reached out to HR this morning and is waiting to hear back and then will inform everyone
