Texas Children's Summer 2020

I wanted to start this for students/first year nurses who are applying at Texas Children's for the summer 2020 cohort, the application should open end of February/March. If anyone has insight to the firm timeline, good contacts, unit specific knowledge, this would be a good place do talk about it!

So did the application for fall start already open/close? I have been checking and haven't seen anything posted for TCH at least. I have been looking into applications for Fall start too just in case.

I really doubt this is true? first of all there is no residency app open and second I do not see how they are interviewing for Fall when they haven't even hired for Summer and our start date could get pushed to October my friend was told by her manager. And to have 0 communication with us and then start interviewing a whole new group of applicants? Nah

I am just saying what a friend that works there informed me I don’t know if it’s true, but I thought I would let the group know.

A RN at TCH told me more of the same. "Everything is on hold" and that they do not know when things will open up again. They are waiting for positions to be approved... I'm thinking it will be based on the actual need/hospital census outlook.

Some nurse managers have previously said after June 1st we would know something. Unfortunately, TCH is still laying off a lot of employees, so I would be shocked if this residency class still happens.

Does anyone have an idea on when to expect fall apps to open? im not thinking this residency will happen at all
