TESU ABSN Spring 2022 Cohort

Published

Hi,

I just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to Spring 2022 Cohort for Thomas Edison University in NJ. I’m in the application process and I’m in the last semester of my pre-reqs. I believe the deadline to apply is February 1st and the Spring cohort starts May 2022. Has anyone started their application process yet?

You know I wish I knew of the January cohort a bit earlier, I would’ve loved it. But I found out late and they said the date for January was October 1st, so that ship sailed, LOL.
And for Ethics TESU doesn’t offer, it’s only DSST offering the exam and not many places administering this exam. I called a few places, no luck. Camden cc is doing paper version but results take 6-8 weeks, which sucks!
Also I heard, exam is different than what you study for, it’s making this process complicated for no reason.

I guess we’ll be in the same cohort once everything is taken care of, LOL.

@Nursing27

Hi - Hoping you are well, are you ready to start in Jan'22?

I really wanna know what the day-to-day looks like when you start. I'm looking to start May'22 hoping all goes well and really want to know what would be on-campus days as I'd be driving from some distance. Have they told you yet?

Thank you

@Raz555 Hi, I am excited and ready to get started! During orientation they did provide us with some information and also I spoke with current students. During the first term it seems we are campus more frequently, about 2-3 days a week for labs.

Hey everyone just an update. I have my interview Friday! I’m excited yet nervous. Wish me luck please! This is for the May 2022 Cohort. I hope everyone in the January cohort is doing well

@Nursing27Hi this is great to hear. Good luck with everything and please keep posting. Being in campus is 2-3 days? That’s definitely more than some had mentioned but it is what it is. How many classes did they give for the first term?

please keep posting, THANK YOU! Good Luck!

@Royalblue30Hi are they bringing you in for the interview or is it zoom?
Good luck with the interview and hope to be your classmate in May, fingers crossed hahaha

let us know how it went. Good Luck!!

@Raz555 thank you so much! It’s zoom. & I hope so too! Are you done with your application?

Congrats on your interview! When I had mine it was a couple different professors on it plus the dean. Just be yourself and be prepared to answer questions like why nursing and why now. They also asked me about some of my undergrad classes like chem and anatomy.

We are currently on campus 2 days per week, and the other 2 we are online. We have off on Fridays (but doesn’t mean you won’t be busy doing work!). We have 3 classes right now and start clinicals in 2 weeks.

@Elizhh16 Thank you so much for the advice. How soon until after your interview did you get accepted? Also, the schedule doesn’t seem too bad. Clinical will be how many days a week for you? And thus far how are the professors ?

@Royalblue30done with application, all classes are in just finishing up personal statement. Hoping to have it all done by next week.
And being nervous is a really good thing personally soaking , it’ll help. You worked hard to get to this point there’s no way you won’t make it!

@Elizhh16Thanks for sharing this info with us. It really helps getting in the right mindset and helps in planning. What days are you on campus and do the days on campus change? And also what’s the schedule like through the day when you’re on campus?

Hey all, Sorry if anyone mentioned it, but I just finished my TEAS and submitted it. Now all is left is an interview. Can anyone give any insight on what the interview was like? Was it a panel? What they asked? Zoom? Also, how soon after the interview did they let you know you were accepted? any thing would be appreciate

@NewPathForMe hey girl so I just had my interview this past Friday and it was on zoom. There were about 5 people. They pretty much asked the basic questions on why you want to be a nurse and why did you choose them. Based on your essay or how the conversation is going they will ask you questions like how do you handle stress etc. It was a simple Interview. She told me it can take up to two weeks for a response after an interview. Some student get their acceptance letter a couple of days after. It varies. I hope I get an acceptance letter this week. *crosses fingers*
