TESU ABSN Spring 2022 Cohort

Published

Hi,

I just wanted to start a thread for anyone applying to Spring 2022 Cohort for Thomas Edison University in NJ. I’m in the application process and I’m in the last semester of my pre-reqs. I believe the deadline to apply is February 1st and the Spring cohort starts May 2022. Has anyone started their application process yet?

Oh wow that’s soon! Best of luck to you guys. You guys have plenty of time to prepare ! I’m excited for you guys!

I was also recently accepted for May 2022 but was offered to join the Winter Cohort. Does anyone want to start a new post or FB group for it?

@ilr19 I think a new post and FB group is a good idea. The facebook group info can be posted in the new post for anyone in the cohort that wants to join.

@Royalblue30 Thank you! I wish you the best of luck during the application process. Just a few things to address some of the questions you had, the application process for me did not take long once everything was complete. I heard back from my advisor a week after they received everything telling me that they wanted to interview me. After my interview, I received my acceptance a week later. For the personal statement, be sure to cover all the questions they provided. You can also add some additional information that you think would make your personal statement stronger. During my interview they asked some questions about things I wrote in my personal statement. Best of luck and if you have any additional questions, let me know.

@Nursing27 @ilr19

Attached is the group I made for the Winter 2022 cohort!

@Nursing27 yes thank you I definitely will and I’ll keep you guys posted as well since you guys will be in the cohort before me. I wonder why they decided to do a Winter cohort (I’m not complaining though LOL)

Hey Thanks for starting this thread a much needed communication channel.

I wanted to start this Sep, but had some family issues and wasn't able to and missed getting in my ethics and my TEAS. I have everything except for the 2 mentioned. ANYONE here has taken the DSST exam to get out of Ethics requirement? if so please share some details as I'm a bit lost.  Thank you

CONGRATS to everyone accepted already!! must be a great feeling

@Raz555 I am not familiar with the DSST exam but I did take a CLEP exam and was able to test out of one of my sociology requirement. My advisor was the one who told me I could do the CLEP exam since my class did not fulfill their requirement. Have you spoken with someone at the school?

@Nursing27I spoke with an advisor she mentioned I need to test out of Ethics and use DSST. It's an external source that provides you with an exam to take on a number of subjects but I only need ethics. So I was just wondering if anyone took that exam. Also are did you use any study guides for the TEAS exam?

I used a few different books that are published by McGraw Hill to study from, they have a practice TEAS test and that helped me. I didn’t purchase any through ATI but I have read that they are helpful.

@Nursing27

Thanks for this info, I'll be looking those up. So I have 2 things to finish, test out of ethics and get the TEAS done. Hoping to get this done in October and hopefully not have to worry about the Feb deadline for May cohort.

Thanks again

@Royalblue30

How far along are you with your application process?

What did you do for your ethics requirements? as I am having a difficulty finding a place to take the DSST exam to test out of it and be done with my requirements. I am also shooting for the Spring cohort. Have only TEAS and Ethics requirements left.

Hey hun,

So all I have to do is finish my personal statement. And when the semester is over send my final transcript for the last 3 pre reqs and then an advisor will reach out to me about taking the TEAS. I should be completely done with everything by the end of this year/beginning of next year hopefully. Also for ethics I took the class already. Honestly you can shoot for the January one since your pretty much done. TESU doesn’t offer the test for your ethics requirement?
