Test on July 15 2015 HELP

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey guys!!!

I take my test in 10 days and I am nervous (like everyone else). I have been studying every single day for 1 1/2 months for about 4-8 hrs depending on the day. Literally would wake up eat, study, eat, study, eat, study sleep. I know I sound crazy But I am not the best test taker so I have to go the extra mile and study more :) Thankfully my school provided Kaplan for us this year. My studying has been mainly focused on Kaplan. My scores so far have been this:

-question trainers: 66,60,46,57,61,56

-qbank: 62

-sample tests: 60,62,90,40

- readiness (we took this in school rushed and i didnt know anything): 64%

I still have 200 qbanks to do and Im doing qt7 tomorrow. I know my ques trainers have been fluctuating but ive been doing better on the qbanks. I started out getting 45-60% a month ago and now have been getting 65-80% on them. I am worried that my qt are too low and that I'm not being consistent. I also have a couple friends i work with who graduated last year and still cant pass and They scare me and tell me that i would be lucky to pass because its horrible. I have friends in different states that i graduated with who have passed with flying colors without putting much effort into it.

I also came across Uworld and have been starting a couple ques. Is kaplan or Uworld more identical to the testing format on the nclex? I also read the ati cumulative content book, did a couple questions from the Kaplan book, some ques from the lippincott alternative book, and a couple chapters in the Q&A Davis Success Comprehensive book.

So to summarize this all.. Am i doing okay?! What did you guys use to study that was helpful? Sometimes I feel like Im playing Russian Roulette with these Kaplan ques since theyre so hard! Worried that I'll guess wrong. I am definitely more confident in myself now than I was a month ago, but I still feel like I dont know a lot.

Thanks guys :)

what did your friends say? and she used a debit card but wrong expiration date.

Word for word it said "the payment was declined. Please contact credit card company or use the different code."

tm, tell ur friend to go get a prepaid card for $25, put $23 in gas and use it to submit. The cc I used was actual a debit card school ID that any FA excess was put into. I had $2 on it and that is the card I used with the right number but wrong exp date and go the good pop up and my card was not declined not charged. I also tried to use a wrong # first last night and it gave me the same message ur friend is getting but then when I used the right number worm exp date I got the PPP up!

If she still gets declined message that means they tried to charge the card for the reaschedule Nclex fee.

Just have her try to put all the accurate card info in! (Exp date AND the right number) or gift card. I believe that is more accurate.

She is using the right credit card number but she keeps putting in the wrong expiration date. and it keeps saying The payment was declined. Reason: Invalid security code. Contact your credit card company or use a different credit card" I don't think she has access to get a prepaid card. Wish someone had one lying around and if i did i would def let her use it.

Yeah i think putting in the wrong exp date in can be and inaccurate reading. It can go both ways but i would have put all the correct info in accurately in order to get the most accurate pvt.

What is wrong with just waiting the 48 hours to know 100% for sure that you passed with Quick Results? Yes, it *feels* like a long time (I just went through it last week). But you really do get through it. Time won't stand still. I promise

You will never know 100% for sure that you passed or not with PVT. If you have to go through that much rigamarole with a credit card, I just don't see why anyone would put any faith in it.

I took my test today too. I got so many SATAs that I had to laugh. I could not even believe it. I'm not even exaggerating half of my test was SATA. All of the other questions seemed so foreign. Like, I cannot even reconstruct the questions they were asking me if I tried. I felt like I guessed on 90% of the questions. I took so long on each question that I was offered a break before I even got through the first 75. I took the break to use the restroom and to look at myself in the mirror and pump myslef back up. I went on to finish and the screen went blue after the 75th question. I literally wanted to cry, vomit, scream. I was so upset. I felt that I was doing so bad and I was hoping for more questions.

It was all a blur!

I laughed at people who did the PVT before, but the anxiety got the best of me and I had to try. I put in an actually credit card with funds available and real info becuase I figured that if I failed, I would have to pay for it anyway. I got the good pop up and though I know it's not garantee, it at least took the edge off for me. Here in PA, people have been taking the test and getting results on the BON site within 24hrs so I'm going to check tomorrow and if I see myself on there I'll save my 8 bucks!

I'm hopeful and I'm praying and trying to keep my minf off of it. I pray we both passed!

I agree. Either quick results or BON for your state. I told her she needs to stop before she worries herself sick. This is why I didn't even attempt to do anything. The worst is that she failed and has to take it again. So what? some of the best nurses had to take it more than once

Yeah i know the PVT isnt a big indicator but it DEF did calm my nerves and give me some hope since majority of people did agree saying it did work for them. I know people who failed and didnt get the good pop up so it had to be somewhat right. All my friends were like YOU PASSED based on my PVT but i DO NOT like to say that i did or tell anyone that i did until it is actually CONFIRMED by my unofficial results. But for time being... The pvt is a good stress reliever :p

i dont think mine would be posted on the NJBON anytime soon because NJ IS SLOW AS F. Literally took 5 weeks to even get my att and that was with showing up and calling 24/7. dont think it would actually be up till oct/nov

I'm in MO hopefully it doesn't take forever.
