Test on July 15 2015 HELP

Published

Hey guys!!!

I take my test in 10 days and I am nervous (like everyone else). I have been studying every single day for 1 1/2 months for about 4-8 hrs depending on the day. Literally would wake up eat, study, eat, study, eat, study sleep. I know I sound crazy But I am not the best test taker so I have to go the extra mile and study more :) Thankfully my school provided Kaplan for us this year. My studying has been mainly focused on Kaplan. My scores so far have been this:

-question trainers: 66,60,46,57,61,56

-qbank: 62

-sample tests: 60,62,90,40

- readiness (we took this in school rushed and i didnt know anything): 64%

I still have 200 qbanks to do and Im doing qt7 tomorrow. I know my ques trainers have been fluctuating but ive been doing better on the qbanks. I started out getting 45-60% a month ago and now have been getting 65-80% on them. I am worried that my qt are too low and that I'm not being consistent. I also have a couple friends i work with who graduated last year and still cant pass and They scare me and tell me that i would be lucky to pass because its horrible. I have friends in different states that i graduated with who have passed with flying colors without putting much effort into it.

I also came across Uworld and have been starting a couple ques. Is kaplan or Uworld more identical to the testing format on the nclex? I also read the ati cumulative content book, did a couple questions from the Kaplan book, some ques from the lippincott alternative book, and a couple chapters in the Q&A Davis Success Comprehensive book.

So to summarize this all.. Am i doing okay?! What did you guys use to study that was helpful? Sometimes I feel like Im playing Russian Roulette with these Kaplan ques since theyre so hard! Worried that I'll guess wrong. I am definitely more confident in myself now than I was a month ago, but I still feel like I dont know a lot.

Thanks guys :)

I also took my test yesterday. I didn't get an actual pop-up with the message saying my request couldn't be processed at this time, but I did get that message on the follow up page. Is this because of my pop-up blocker settings? Or is it not indicative of pass/fail? I used a canceled credit card and it didn't give me any error messages about my card or declining my payment. The only reason it gave for not processing my request was that I had recently scheduled this exam. Another registration cannot be made at this time.” Is this the same message indicated by the PVT that means I passed”?

Mcuello7, yes i did but its the florida health dept , not Nj

Please read what I wrote only three posts before yours, here.

It's a game. You might have passed, you might have failed. Not being able to create a duplicate registration *usually* means passing, but it is anything but accurate. Please do not keep attempting to register, you will not learn anything more. If Quick Results are available in your State, pay the eight bucks and get REAL results.

Good luck.

Waited the 24 hours AFTER i finished the test and did the PVT again.... got the good pop up. Meh 24 more hours for the unofficial results...

I'm sure u passed ! I did the PVT and got the good pop up hours after my exam and 24 hours later . On found out I passed on Sunday . So I'm pretty sure you more than likely passed .

Im in NY and I just took the test on the 15th also! I definitely felt like I bombed it but I took 2 hours to answer 75 questions and got the blue screen. I put a lot of thought into each question and felt that I knew nothing. My friends who have taken it all have passed in 75 and say they felt the same. I haven't tried PVT, just the good old self soothing techniques lol. These are the worst 48 hrs. But they are half over. Good luck to everyone... Im hoping for a miracle. Although I practiced questions for a month. Sun up to sun down in the two weeks before including the day before the test. I felt that there's no way to feel prepared with content other than feeling prepared to use what you know to THINK your way through most if not all questions. My test was about 10-15 SATA and lots of delegation, priority and a few meds. BARF.

Ugh praying for a miracle. My heart is in my stomach and I've barely eaten. I know everyone feels like they failed but idk. Everyone is telling me I'm fine esp because of the 75 and the "good pop up" but who even knows. Everyone on here has different experiences and reviews. I do over work myself with stress and anxiety. All i can do right now is pray till the morning.

Congrats missnurse792!!!!!!

Ok, all you guys, listen up :)

The odds are strongly in your favor; going with the statistics (I recently posted them in two threads if you feel like looking) you are more than likely in the passing category. That doesn't mean I am psychic, LOL, just that the odds really are with you.

Now, on the rest: given the kinds of students you were in school, the reputation of your nursing program, the pass rate of your school....and how you studied/prepared for this exam....is it MORE likely you were able to demonstrate competency fairly early on OR that you did so miserably that it shut you off in the minimum number of questions? Honestly.....think on that....and then BREATHE :D

Now get the heck off the computer and go for a run. Or walk the dog. Go to the mall with a friend you've been blowing off so you could study....and do NOT discuss this test, she won't want to hear it! Treat yourself to something yummy, or something sparkly ;)

It'll all be over soon.

I agree with RNsRWe. I cleaned my house top to bottom to pass the time until I got my results. It sure did help...any my house looks fabulous now

I have read so much of this thread because I am starting to feel the pressure more and more.... I am scheduled to test on the 23rd and am looking for anyone who feels the way I do! Can't wait to see if you passed!

If you are looking for "anyone" who feels the way you do, you can rest 100% assured that there are MANY in the same boat.

For the really odd case of someone saying that they were calm, not nervous, felt completely great about the test, and also LEFT the test feeling that way...all I can say is that those are some seriously rare creatures, LOL.....I assume there's something wrong with you if you DON'T feel nervous about this process!
