Hello, I just wanted to start a thread for those of us applying for the LVN or RN programs at Temple College for 2015. We can share information, discuss any concerns, talk about the HESI exam, getting cleared through the Board of Nursing, or the just nursing program in general! Those of you that are already in the program are more than welcome to chime in.
PLEASE NOTE: I am in no way taking responsibility for any wrong information given, nor will I moderate this thread. I just want to meet new friends and support one another through the process of applying and getting our acceptance letters!
You received a denial email from TC? Or MCC?
I know it's competitive but I like that there are two chances to apply in the year instead of one.
I've heard mixed things about both programs, to be honest I'm just dying to get in one and become a nurse I don't care which one just as long as I can get the ball rolling.
Actually based upon MCC's point system they look much easier to get in
then TC. If someone has a 4.0 in all their pre-reqs and co-reqs then
they automatically get 43 points...and as long as they make a minimum
score of 75 on required sections and a reading score above 95 then they
get the full 3 points for the test. The only point that would be in questions
is the 1 point for county resident if someone lived outside the county.
I also remember reading on here from someone else that they have a lot
less applying at MCC compared to TC so it gives a better chance at
MCC.....and then you also got the fact that MCC has two admissions
a year compared to TC's one.
Preach í ½í¹Œí ¼í¿¼ lol
I have to agree with you, their point system is a lot more fair than TC's. One point for being a county resident is a lot better than the what is it ? 8% of points for being a temple resident? I like the fact the the pre-reqs are worth so many points, and then you get a large amount of points for your overall GPA. Not to mention you get to list out your experience which makes your application stand out if you have any.
Its still a competitive program, but if things don't work out for any of you all and you somehow don't happen to get into TC's program I'd definitely look into MCC's if you have the means to make it to Waco.

I applied to the ADN and LVN program. I was accepted to the LVN program. they said they would send out your acceptance and denial emails first to those students who were already in the LVN so that they would know whether or not to move ahead with their LVN process. I received a denial email about 4 days ago... =( they said my 3.5 GPA was too low...so it looks like I will be a bridger next year! Good luck to all you guys who haven't heard back yet!
