Temple College Nursing 2016!!!

Published

Hey Everyone, I created this thread for anybody looking to apply for the 2016 LVN or ADN program at Temple College! Anyone and Everyone is welcome to come and discuss your application processes, Acceptance into the programs, your nursing history with Temple College, etc.. I look forward to speaking and hopefully meeting my new fellow classmates through this thread!

Thanks!!!

I think it can be a good thing or a bad thing.. Depending if you're on the lower range or the higher range. Overall it's easier to calculate and tell people than when they were just using percentages. I have 7/13 so far. I haven't taken my HESI yet thoughí ½í¸”

So I'm just going to chime in here. I applied for the lvn to adn program. I'm nervous, but I did their lvn program back in 2012...so a little familiar with the process. Let me know if anyone else is bridging, I believe the bridge program sends out acceptance letters toward the end of March.

Ugh. I only have 9/13 points right now. I've even thought about renting out my out of district house and moving in district just to get an extra point!

I took my HESI today and made a 91.33. Booo. Not what I wanted. So as of now I have 9/13 points as well. I will be retaking it for a higher score. (Hopefully) I also applied to the VN program today just in case I didn't make into the ADN. I was application #64 so there weren't very many people applying to the VN program at all this year.

When does the VN program application close?

What zip codes are considered in district? Does Killeen/Harker heights count?

I think the application period just closed, but the adn application period starts soon. Killeen and Harker Heights are out of district for Temple College but in district for CTC. Nolanville is out of district for Temple College also.

That's still a good score!

Im applying to the LVN to RN program as well. I'm just waiting on TBON to update my license to put on my application. Its annoying its taking so long. I just graduated from CTC LVN program with high honors and all my preq's done. Im not familiar with this point system crap. the last time i looked at it i thought you could only get a total of 8 points lol but obviously I need to go look it up.. How is your GPA? and How was the LVN program? Ive hear really good things about temples nursing programs in general but i know its REALLY competitive blah. I hope its not as intense and fast pace at the LVN lol..

Hey you all first off I wish you all luck in the application and selection process! I am in the 2nd semester of the ADN program and I was exactly were most of you were a year ago. I do not have much info on the LVN program but I do for the ADN. Last year about 300 people applied to ADN and 60 were accepted. From talking to classmates I believe a GPA of around 3.3+ and a HESI score of 90+ with all prereqs complete places you at very likely of getting accepted. If you all have any questions feel free to ask, and look forward to seeing you all around campus :)

Thank you so much for your input. Do you know if you have a coreq in progress when you apply if it counts or not?

Hi bsdavis88,

Yeah, I'm not 100% on the whole point system either. I believe it is 8 points, which I think I only have maybe 5 or so.

My GPA for the pre/co-reqs is 3.17 (yeah, not that great) but I cannot retake my LVN classes which sucks because I have a C in one or two of the classes that count toward the pre-reqs. The LVN program through TC was very fast paced and crammed with information. Atleast that's what it seemed like. The current students in the bridge program that I've talked with say that after being an LVN and the experience that comes with it, the bridge program is a lot easier compared to those starting from the beginning of the ADN program (the second year of the ADN program mixes with the new LVN bridgers.)

So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I turned my application in on Jan 6th, and we should hear back around spring break time frame - sigh-
