Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey Everyone, I created this thread for anybody looking to apply for the 2016 LVN or ADN program at Temple College! Anyone and Everyone is welcome to come and discuss your application processes, Acceptance into the programs, your nursing history with Temple College, etc.. I look forward to speaking and hopefully meeting my new fellow classmates through this thread!

Thanks!!!

Hey everyone, I started this post and I plan to apply for the LVN and ADN Program this year '15-"16. I am currently registered for The Intro to A&P and ITSE computer class for lvn and also engl comp 1 and Psyc 1 for the fall. Both of the classes I am registeree for in the fall will be in a IP status when applying for LVN. In the spring I will apply to ADN and will be currently registered for Psyc 2, A&P 1, so all I will have left is A&P 2 (which I hope I will still have a good chance of getting in without have completed that class. I will strive to make all A's and a 90 or above on the HESI. If I get accepted into the LVN and not the ADN then I just plan on transferring to MCC's Tarleton University LVN-BSN program instead of bridging to ADN. If I get accepted into ADN then I will just do that and maybe continue my BSN through a jobplace. Any Recommendations anybody could give me or advice would be greatly appreciated?! Any LVN or ADN school experience would be awesome as well. And any opinions on my path I have chosen as well.

I hope I get to meet anybody else looking to apply into the LVN and ADN programs this year!!

Hello,

I also plan on applying for either or both the ADN and LVN programs through Temple College for 2016. I will be commuting from Georgetown, and have two kids, ages 5 & 2 at the start of the ADN 2016 program, that will be going into kindergarten (as well as before and after school care) and childcare so that I can go to school. I have all of my pre-reqs and co-reqs for the ADN program completed (and LVN pre-reqs) and just need to take the HESI.

My main concern are my kids being in childcare for so long, especially with my added commute time. My husband is active duty military, so I can't rely on him, since his schedule could change at any moment. If anyone has been in this similar situation, any advice would be helpful.

I called Temple yesterday asking about the hours, and the Chair of the LVN program emailed me the schedule and I called the ADN program coordinator and they both said I would need to be available from 6:30am-4:30pm, except LVN sometimes going until 5-6pm.

Let me know if anyone has been in a similar situation.

Thanks!

...Also, does anyone know if there are options of clinical start times? Do all clinicals start at 6:45am or is there an option that starts at 8am?

Hi! My name is Nicole and I plan on registering for the LVN and ADN programs also. I am mainly focused on the ADN program. I have completed everything on the coreq list, except I am currently enrolled in A&P 1, and I plan to take A&P 2 next semester. I haven't taken the Hesi yet. I have all A's except for a B in Lifespan Growth and Development (so far, fingers crossed). I will also have the extra 8 percent for living in district. Hopefully it's enough, but we'll see!

I also have a little one, except she's only seven months old. My boyfriend only works on the weekends, which means he'll be able to keep her during the week if I'm accepted into the program. I haven't heard of any daycare services through TC or anything for the nursing program. But if I hear about anything, I'll let you know!

Hesi done. Coreqs done. Tomorrow VN application! How is everyone else?

I also plan on applying to LVN and ADN programs. I have to admit I have my heart set on MCC though. I've taken A&P1, English comp 1301, PSYC 2301, and got all A's and I'm currently taking PSYC 2314 and plan on taking A&P2, Micro and a humanities course next semester. Hopefully that will be good enough! Also do we have to take 2 separate HESI exams for both programs? And so we get extra points if we have some kind of certification, for example a Dental Assistant license?

You only need to take the HESI once. It will be good for a year. No extra points for other certs.

Thank you! Have you turned in your application?

I turned my application in a couple of weeks ago.

Micro is no longer a Prereq for the ADN program.
