  1. Congrats debien! I'll be seeing you soon. Hey cnelson, I believe TC will take HESI scores if they include all areas that TC tests for on the HESI (no more, no less). If that's the case and it's been a year or less since taken, you should be good.
  2. Ok everyone, who got into the 2017 bridge program?
  3. I was so focused on TC that I don't have everything for CTC. I'm going to take micro this summer, and they have 2 classes...the pharmacology, and RNSG 1229 that I think I would have to do. I don't know if any of my VN classes from TC would count for those 2 classes. So I'm looking at applying in November for the following spring -sigh- ...and bsdavis88, kind of like your situation, I've only been at TC so I don't know what to expect from CTC. I don't know anyone who has been in their bridge program so really feel lost.
  4. If I'm reading correctly, they allow applications twice a year, the next being by November 1st.
  5. Yeah...I didn't get in . I'm going to try ctc next.
  6. Hi bsdavis88, Yeah, I'm not 100% on the whole point system either. I believe it is 8 points, which I think I only have maybe 5 or so. My GPA for the pre/co-reqs is 3.17 (yeah, not that great) but I cannot retake my LVN classes which sucks because I have a C in one or two of the classes that count toward the pre-reqs. The LVN program through TC was very fast paced and crammed with information. Atleast that's what it seemed like. The current students in the bridge program that I've talked with say that after being an LVN and the experience that comes with it, the bridge program is a lot easier compared to those starting from the beginning of the ADN program (the second year of the ADN program mixes with the new LVN bridgers.) So I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I turned my application in on Jan 6th, and we should hear back around spring break time frame - sigh-
  7. So I'm just going to chime in here. I applied for the lvn to adn program. I'm nervous, but I did their lvn program back in 2012...so a little familiar with the process. Let me know if anyone else is bridging, I believe the bridge program sends out acceptance letters toward the end of March.
  8. I'm an LVN who has been debating for a bit whether or not to go through Excelsior to get my ADN with my ultimate goal being to enter UT Austin for their ADN to BSN program. I've looked at all the pros and cons of going to Excelsior and have decided to go soon. I've used the list of required prereqs for UT Austin as a guide, and I believe completing these prereqs at my local college will cover the required prereqs for Excelsior in the process. With this said, here is the list I found on UTA's website of required prereqs and I have 2 questions: (Courses and Credit Hours) Chemistry - 3 (Not yet taken) Biology - 3 (Will Intro to A&P count for this??) Nutrition - 3 (I have no clue...what classes can I do for this??) Microbiology - 3 (Not yet taken) Pharmacology - 3 (Should be waivable) Anatomy & Physiology - 8 (Starting A&P 1 this semester, A&P 2 next semester) English Comp I - 3 (Completed) English Literature - 3 (Not yet taken) Government - 6 (Starting U.S. and Texas both this semester) US History - 6 (Not yet taken) Psychology - 3 (Completed) Growth & Development - 3 (Starting this semester) Statistics - 3 (Not yet taken) Visual & Performing Arts - 3 (Not yet taken) So that's my list. If anyone can answer those 2 questions, and/or give any advice or tips for the road I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! -DR
  9. Like everyone else, I'm so glad for all the answers here. I'm an LVN who has been debating for a bit whether or not to go through EC to get my ADN with my ultimate goal being to enter UTA for ADN to BSN. I've looked at the list of required prereqs for UTA, and while completing these at my local college I figure I'll get whatever is required by EC completed in the process. Next semester I will enroll in EC while taking the rest of my prereqs at my local college. With this said, here is the list I found on UTA's website of required prereqs and I have 2 questions: Courses and Credit Hours: Chemistry - 3 (Not yet taken) Biology - 3 (Will Intro to A&P count for this??) Nutrition - 3 (I have no clue...what classes can I do for this??) Microbiology - 3 (Not yet taken) Pharmacology - 3 (Should be waivable) Anatomy & Physiology - 8 (Starting A&P 1 this semester, A&P 2 next semester) English Comp I - 3 (Completed) English Literature - 3 (Not yet taken) Government - 6 (Starting U.S. and Texas both this semester) US History - 6 (Not yet taken) Psychology - 3 (Completed) Growth & Development - 3 (Starting this semester) Statistics - 3 (Not yet taken) Visual & Performing Arts - 3 (Not yet taken) So that's my list. If anyone can answer those 2 questions, and/or give any advice or tips for the road I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks! -DR
  10. Hey yall...really important...if any of yall are still interested in getting all 3 semesters textbooks for about half price from one of the previous class's students...let me know, I have her email and according to the TC website the books for all 3 semesters comes up to about 1200 bucks but she was gonne give all of them except for I think one for 550. Let me know if any of yall are interested.
  11. lol yeah, sort of a clip on thingy, idk how to explain it, but they were giving them away for free with a purchase. Good luck with getting everything ready...see you in june!
  12. Thats not to bad for the books...I'm probably going to wait a little bit for the books...we still have a month and some odd days before school starts...I figure i'll get my passport photos and books around the same time, fyi I think cvs online has a coupon to get 2 passport photos for around 7 bucks I think. As for the stethoscope...mines black, I got the name tag thing...granted I did put it on backwards lol, but atleast with those we knows who's is who's.
  13. lol I had a watch...so I guess I need another...I paid for my background check and all that other stuff after orientation...I got my background check today...thats how extensive my background is..takes a day lol..my financial aid and all that is good to go. I actually got my stethoscope at the orientation...gonna go to the uniform place tomorrow to get my clothes...and all I will have left is the books, I've had very little luck trying to get them from some of the people who did last years courses..so I'm going to look online. Am I nervous...maybe if I bend over and my pants rip or something...thats about as nervous as I'll be...other than that i'm ready!
  14. Easiest way to descibe myself ...I was literally right behind yall lol...well more directly behind Lisa I suppose...I thought it was funny, if I remember correctly, Lisa was coming to sit next to you and asked the girl on the end if the seat was taken and she was said yeah...so Lisa was like oookk i guess i'll sit over there..idk sounded funny when it happened..When all the taylor people raised hands it did look like a lot but when they went to talk with the lead instructor it didn't seem like to many. I think 25 to 30 are going to taylor..70 to 60 are going to temple.
  15. I was probably right behind u lol....I was the fat guy in a black shirt in the second row from the front...Where you the one sitting with that other girl and that guy?
